I do this quite often with my friend. I tell her “hey look at this.” I face a wall, crouch, look up and back into the wall before making a popping sound. Gets her everytime.

@freddyfasthands8131 Awesome! Baboon tarantulas in general are my favorites. She's my current biggest at 6 inches, and as you can see, her webbing is immaculate ☺️

@LairOfTheMenagerie I would love to!! I love the green blue bottleneck tarantula and the sunburst Asian as well! The coloration, their habits and their comfortability with handlers

@LairOfTheMenagerie what I find fascinating is her webbing pattern. OBT's are ground species instead of arboreal

Random question, how is your aphonopelma jalisco doing?
@EldanumАй бұрын
@brando9781 I had re-home her with a friend, but the last uodate they gave me said she's doing well, I belive shes molted a few times. You had one or were going to get one correct?

how is this guy/gal doing? I happened upon a sling recently but have found very little information about them online or in forums and was curious if you have any insight into them in the months you have owned it
@Eldanum9 ай бұрын
The Lil one has been doing great. My gold top has been pretty typical for both a sling and an aphonopelma. Shy and prone to hiding, but very calm. Keeping her in a little Sling terrestrial Sling enclosure at the moment, she's molted one since I uploaded this video, and has been a very steady eater of smaller crickets. If the Sling you found is about the size of mine, just keep her in a terrestrial Sling enclosure, make sure she has some room to dig and move around. I keep one corner moist and let the water do down to the bottom and wet the lower levels so she can decide how humid she wants to be. I'm gonna be moving her into a little bit wider enclosure over the next day or two and will get that uploaded so you can see how I've been keeping her so far.

@@Eldanum awesome thanks, i've never had an aphonopelma so at least i know its typical behaviour for them and can just do a little research on them.. I had a couple tarantulas years ago but had to give them away because i moved. I came into possession of this guy/'gal because a friend of a friend had to go away for work and someone was supposed to care for his 15+ tarantulas. didn't for months and this little sling was the only survivor
@Eldanum9 ай бұрын
@brando9781 oh hell, that's horrible. At least one survived and can try to thrive now. Most aphonopelma have pretty identical care requirement, there might be little differences here and there and also depending on the attitude of the individual T, but it's usually a pretty solid starter plan to give them moving room, a substrate for digging, and moist corner/area/water dish depending on how big the enclosure is, I mist mine as to simulate rainfall, particularly for my more moisture loving species

@bugloverspiderlover8490 Oh no! I'm so sorry, this is one of the most unfortunate things about keeping tarantulas, the possibility of something going wrong during a molt. My Orphnaecus Sp Panay Blue went through a bad molt a couple week ago and did not make it, I've had a few of my Ts be the victim of a bad molt, it's always very sad.
@bugloverspiderlover8490 Жыл бұрын
@@Eldanum yes it is,she was the gem of my collection and enormous! I’ll miss her terribly,I eventually will get another large tarantula,I think I’m going with a giant white knee or LP,but probably in the spring,near my birthday as I have many other pets which need my attention and I have a surgery tomorrow so getting a new spider right away wouldn’t be a good idea.
@Eldanum Жыл бұрын
@bugloverspiderlover8490 I get that, especially after losing a big T. I've decided to slow down in my collection for a bit. I have a lot that are starting to get big and need re-houses. Gotta make sure I can fit all the enclosures in. One of which will be my Canerides soon, girl needs a bigger burrow.
