If the mouse moves even a tiny fraction during the click, FCPX drags+drops the event an imperceptible distance away instead of selecting and editing the event name. Maybe that's what's happening? Otherwise: select the event, press <return>, and the event name text becomes selected and editable. May also work with a couple of <tabs> depending on keyboard navigation settings. AltOtherwise: Choose a name when you create the event (eg Option-N or the File menu.) Drag media clips from the dated event into the ISO8601-dated-event and slowly realise that editing has become less fun than fighting FCPX's UI. ;)

Hi, I purchase done of your e-paper driver boards ESP32-S3 with battery and e-paper connector, I can't get the board to remain connected on the USB bus, it keeps dropping the connection, do you have any hints on getting it going, do you think the ESP32S3 is drawing too much power from the USB port?
@TheRealRevK

Power can be an issue with the ESP boards - they work well when simply using a USB "charger" type supply. As for flashing, etc, I tend to use a power USB hub.

Had these at my office, room temp is a load of tosh! You'd switch it to heating from cooling and it would swap from 21c and now say the room is 17c when it was around 22/23. Trying to tell delusional people that it can in no way be 17c was always fun...

I've found they're ok provided you have good quality crimpers and don't rush. I prefer the Cat6 pass throughs though, however I don't prefer U/FTP cable. I should probably make some 6A cables for comparison's sake.

I think I could make them blind folded pretty easily if someone told me what one of the 8 colours was. I might even be able to do it one one handed. Cat5e solid core. Lost count of how many cables I've terminated in last 20 years. Over 50,000 cables and panels.

Oh, on the reason that a letter being enciphered as itself is a strength: Enigma was broken by guessing a "crib" that we assumed was in the message. This radio signal comes from the same area of the ocean at the same time every day, it's going to be a weather ship and the message will probably start with the words "weather forecast" (or "wettervorhesage" in German) so if our cipher text contains a letter that matches the assumed text, we know our message doesn't start there. The film The Imitation Game uses a bit of artistic licence saying that the crib was the messages ending in "Heil Hitler", because it makes a good story to say that a dictator's downfall was his ego, rather than his meticulous adherence to protocol. There's a reason it gets called The Irritation Game in circles that know.

Really cool I remember when I was trying to fix a Uniden Satellite receiver they had a 3 or 4 pin part that looked like a voltage regulator or transistor but it actually had 50 parts inside It was SS and it regulated the voltage. The old days there would have been a section of 50 parts that did the same thing and took up 4 by 8 inches. Looking at old two way radios from the 70,80, 90s, the parts are huge compared to the parts now that you need a microscope to see

Thank you for making this video. My first programming was done with ARS33 running timeshare BASIC on a Nova computer IDK 45 years ago. My only regret is that I did not get one of these teletypes when they were being trashed ....

I learned to program using a KSR33 (the punch/reader -less variant of the ASR33) and dial-up to a nearby school district's time-share HP 2000F running, for our use, HP BASIC. Eventually we computer geeks convinced our high school to upgrade from the KSR33 to the ASR33 and now we could save (punch tape) and restore (read tape) our programs rather than have to retype them frequently. Fun Fact: the answerback drums were setup, IIRC, just like the tape with 3 bits (rings of breakable tabs) on one side of a sprocket wheel and five bits (more rings of breakable tabs) on the other. As noted, you broke off the tabs to encode up to twenty (?) characters. Each of the twenty rows of tabs encoded, in ASCII, the answerback or Here Is string. IIRC, Here Is was defined as one of the ASCII Cntrl+Character code points and receiving that code caused the answerback drum sequence to be read/transmitted. I think it was ENQ (Ctrl+E, 0x05). We figured this out and set up an answerback ourselves, but I have no idea to what we would have set it. IIRC, also, the DC1 (Device Control 1, encoded as Ctrl+Q, 0x11) /DC2 (Ctrl+S, 0x12) /DC3 (Ctrl+T, 0x13) /DC4 (Ctrl+U, 0x14) code points, for the ASR33, were used to start/stop the tape reader and punch. We also had way too much fun with Ctrl+G/0x07--rings the teletype's bell when sent or received. Good times…
