Except this isn't true lmfao sbi did background dialogue for the game, that's it. They aren't in credited in the game because of how miniscule the work was, Remedy has always been progressive you're only noticing it now because there's a shiny new name to it.

In the future, Insomniac should focus on more grounded parts of the Spider-Man mythos - as in, the side missions that involve everyday civilians, emergency services, small-town criminals. Insomniac writes villains, their stories and big heroic events fantastically, though.

So I think that comparing Marvel’s New York to the real world is a tad difficult when Spider-Man’s New York has Osborn as the mayor, Fisk as a major controlling force (up until we take him down) and people like J.Jonah creating Scorpion. I think Yuri being a “play by the book” cop isn’t unrealistic. That serves the idea that there aren’t good officers. Your example of Yuri, Gordon, etc being “just as bad” because they don’t do anything? Well we don’t know that they don’t do anything, and also when the city is being taken over by demons breath, figuring out the moles is much less important than saving the city
@alejandroraya_2 ай бұрын
The marvel universe has historically served as an allegory to the real world, so the comparison is apt. Re: Yuri, Gordon, Davis - The idea that there are only a few bad apples in a corrupt police system is a common tool of copaganda perpetuated by media. The "Play by the book officer" is one who still upholds a violent institution, therefore are complicit. Only 21-24% of US Citizens per year have actual interactions with the police. So a majority of public opinion on police is made by the media people consume. NYPD have paid 2 billion dollars in tax payer money over the past 10 years to settle misconduct settlements. Re: Mayor Osborn/Fisk - The real mayor of NYC is an ex cop and is currently under federal investigation for corruption. RE: Devil's Breath - During the in game pandemic all of NY rose to the occasion and helped one another, by masking, taking a vaccine. In real life (Oct. 2021), 10,000 NYPD officers, with the support of the police union, refused to vaccinate at the height of the pandemic. I hope this helps.

@@alejandroraya_ you are educated, more so than I on copaganda. However, I still think that in this story they’re telling, of a corrupt New York with villains who can control electricity, have mechanical arms, and fly, a story where the mayor Osborne hires a company from another country to blockade and harass citizens, they can have good cops without pushing copaganda. Spider-Man as you said a vigilante has been doing this for 8 years helping protect the citizens of New York. Also Avengers tower is in this New York meaning there are definitely other heros and there may not be any need for any kind of “Sokovian Accords” keeping hero in check. I understand a need to point out wrong so as to raise awareness, however I think there is a lien between story telling and propaganda across media.
@zionjones28542 ай бұрын
Also, if I recall, the only cops that are specifically being pointed out as good are Jefferson Davis (Miles’ dad) and Yuri, until she can’t keep herself to honoring a code and going outside of the law. Also when Spider-Man encounters cops like Jefferson Davis, it grows his respect for the people who do not have super powers and risk their lives. 98% of cops in New York could be corrupt, but in this story, Spider-Man encounters the 2%.

I don’t think I really believe in copaganga because it relies so much on the idea that the police shown doing any sort of good onscreen or irl, is propaganda with the assumption that it’s fake and not what cops do or is trying to brainwash you, but I don’t see cops as a whole as neither good or bad under a whole system so maybe that’s why. They do still have problems, but Im not sure if the accusion of copaganda is in good faith at all, especially when that accusion seems to be merely used against any media that didn’t showcase the cops in their media as total morons or as soley corrupt, and go full ‘ACAB’ just at the mere site of someone wearing a cop suit like in this instance of Spiderman jokingly wearing a cop uniform, or people calling Paw Patrol copagana and being serious about their accusion.
@alejandroraya_2 ай бұрын
Not everything featuring police would be considered copaganda. However only about 21-24% of people in the US have direct interactions with police per year. So a majority of peoples opinions are shaped by the media they consume. New York Police have paid over 2 billion dollars of taxpayer money in the past ten years for misconduct settlements. So when a game using the most popular hero in the world portrays him as someone who is an extension of the police, yes it is considered copaganda. Intentional or not.

Excellent video; tightly edited with fair & enjoyable commentary. It made me consider more the tone-deaf-ness of the Ubisoft towers cop subplot when I was priorly more neutral if a bit dismissive towards the "Copaganda" accusation; as well as the missed opportunity they had in tackling the subject given Marvel's broader trait of portraying "the world outside our window". And especially that it's the Spider-Men (One of whom is Afro-Latino) who are more grounded, often are adversarial with cops, and the story features a Kingpin of crime controlling the city.

Good Video. Sorry It likely didn’t get as many views as it did. The Popularity of The Game Seemed to have died out once it seems like No DLC for the game is coming. If they ever release the daredevil or carnage DLC or even a New Spider-Man 3, I hope The series At least goes more in depth without feeling like pandering to express more of the real world issues like Police Reform and Shifts in ideologies.

Hey, I'm new to custom builds and looking to build my own leverless but using the brooks UFB Fusion board instead, for PS5/PC compatibility. Do I need any extra harnesses if I want L3/R3 buttons to be mapped for something? (If it is even possible, for SF6?). I want to have a 15 button layout. Thanks!
@alejandroraya_ Жыл бұрын
As far as I'm aware you'll still need a four pin connector with the brook board. I have one linked from arcade shock in the description. The L3 R3 inputs on my build work in SF6, I just don't have them bound to anything. So you should be good to go once you get the four pin plugged in to the board!

Although maybe I wouldn’t consider Andor as *pristine* television, I think BCS is a bar way too high, i do think it’s some of the best Star Wars content we’ve gotten since the last Jedi
@alejandroraya_2 жыл бұрын
I think Better Call Saul might be the best series ever made. What I feel makes Andor “pristine” or “prestige” is that it’s a major IP with a high budget evoking a lot of BCS’s strengths. Great pacing, writing, and performances, while also being excellent at making the tone feel more TV MA than it can actually go.
