I’m sorry 😞 but this isn’t the same thing without Audrey Meadows playing Alice Kramden ( Pert Kelton even!) , but not the guest on his show trying to portray her as Ralph’s long suffering wife from the beginning of the original series of The Honeymooners onwards. 🥂

This was a real treat to watch. Does anyone know what year this aired ? I’m guessing 1966, when I was nine years old. Such beautiful memories.

My entire family loved The Jacie Gleason Show, but why do I remember it as "Cavalcade of Stars" on the DuMont network? If television was still like this today I would plug my overpriced TV in and start watching it again!

They used to run these old shows clear back in 1978 -79 on Friday nights on a local station in Prime-time. I have not seen any of them sense. These episodes just disappeared. Was basically The Honeymooners 10-11 years later and in color. This series was the 1965 -66 season. I don't think both Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph returned as Trixie and Alice though. I've gotten just 5:45 seconds into this episode so far. Thanks much for sharing this. Merry Christmas!!!

Christ cheer up dude! Happy New Year’s to you from a fellow fan of The Great One ☝️ Art Carney! Jackie appeared on 60 minutes right before his death in 1987 and when asked why he believed that The Honeymooners was still so popular and funny after all these years and he simply said “Art Carney”. Just goes to show how modest Gleason really was when he was off screen, yeah? Take care now- Boston, Massachusetts 🇺🇸

I went to the Jackie Gleason show many times while I was in New York City. When it moved out to Florida, Johnny Olsen did not come with the show, but Jackie loved his warm-ups of the audience so much that he flew him down every week just to do the announcing on the Miami version of the Jackie Gleason show.

I very much appreciate the early mentioning of Pagan midwinter Yule festivities, and that Christianity effectively co-opted them into Christmas. I have no issue with that, it just always rubs me the wrong way, when Yule is bulldozed over by Christmas, and totally ignored. I love Christmas, as it now is, and celebrate all of it's parts, including the Christian elements, I'm just glad when all parts of it are remembered.

The reason that we don't have these great shows on tv anymore is because we don't have that same caliber of stars anymore like we used to back in the day.

1st Song...had to stop what I was doing Perfect description of women by men even 50 y ago. Time for her to evolve beyond distraction Comments about men. In 2024, many are, starting to listen and on the road of self reflection not deflection. Perhaps Transgender goddesses may be inspiring this as many only respond with competition thinking. 🤔
