We have been to Marmaris 5 times now and loved it each time.. This time though was bad. When we go we tend to eat at the same places and we got to know the people.. A lot of them do money exchange at good rates so while we were in a very popular bar which is on the main street and we ALWAYS visit, this time we noticed that they were offering 43 lira for £1. My son decided to get £300 changed over to lira so we called over the owner who then called his money man (as we call him) and my son handed over his 300 and the money man walked away.. He returned about 10 minutes later and handed the lira over to my son and said 9.500 lira (when he should have received 12.900), I did not click on straight away as i was to too busy drinking and looking around at what was going on. It took me about 10 minutes to find out what had happened but by this time the place was getting quite busy and the owner was getting ready for the nights show. I thought i would see the owner the next morning as i thought he was a decent fella and would sort it out but that did not happen as he brushed it off and said we should have said something the night before.. (Which to be honest we should have) but what i am trying to say is always check your money and work out what you should get back and if it's wrong then say something straight away.. So much for knowing the owner and hoping he would sort it out but we have heard since that it happens a lot (all over Turkey).. Our own fault for not speaking up.. Don't trust anyone with exchange rates and always keep a record of what you order and check your bills as it's also known that they add things on that you did not order.. Our mistake to trust them cost my son around £100, but believe me it will never happen again as we will never visit his place again..

Today totally changed my view on Marmaris

Careful guys if you choose to visit En Baba. I traveled there yesterday from Icmeler on a moped I have hired. They showed me a different menu, they said it was the English menu. I looked at the turkish menu they showed the turks and the same items were priced less. The item dad loves food ordered was 250tl £5.50 without a drink.

Late to the show but as a born and raised Swede i have to say something These cans have to be Stored in 8 Celsius or below so imagine when they ship this in the summer heat and nothing keeping it cold ,😂 that can should be whole fish filets with clear salted water covering them and not a brown soup with bones , it still stinks when fresh but i cant imagine the smell looking like that , Hat off for tasting it though

If you use the short stay 2 car park to drop off you get 15 minutes free at Newcastle, It's a 2 minute walk but saves £4.

I go twice a year and the food and drink goes up every visit I know prices go up but compared the Tenerife or Spain. The excursions are still well priced though in Marmaris. Club alize is the hotel I go to mint for families the drinks are top there
