Love the subtle shot at fd’s bullsh!t. “Next time I’ll spin out and let the cars crash”. Absolutely unacceptable a league is condoning the destruction of the vehicles and injury of their competitors for the sake of reducing “flopping” smh fd needs to reevaluate a lot for next season.

What would be the prefered option for 6k front, 4k rear on a street car with rough roads? PA backroads are nice but they can also be rough in spots.

Thank you for the info and continued commitment to sharing suspension insights! I could really benefit from some advice on the suspension setup one would look at for a gravel/low grip tarmac (drift) seat time E46 built within a reasonable budget. (NA 6, stock). I imagine a soft springed setup with more ARB could be a decent compromise for both with shock adjustments. Would any entry to medium level BC Set able to do gravel driving and which set would allow me to raise the car more? I can provide a lot more details of course but don't want this to be too long, I value your time just looking for general directions. Thanks in advance!

Pretty well explained! So on a E36 it's pretty common knowledge (thx to CD88 🫡) that linear is better for E36/E46 rear, for the forward bite. But I never asked how does linear vs digressive effect side bite?
@olof103eriksson5 ай бұрын
Man that is confusing to grasp how it would actually work in the car
@804MRMANАй бұрын
In layman terms, digressive handles imperfect roads at slow speeds by being stiffer, at a higher speed over that same road it will be softer because the wheel is traveling faster upwards and downwards.
@themike97_587 күн бұрын
@@804MRMAN i would argue its important to not underspring your car with digressive pistons. I think a lot of people do that because they're using their DS shocks on the street and a weaker spring makes the ride feel more comfy. IMO linear shocks are better bc you shouldn't rely on the dampers to control things like body roll and ride harshness. that should all be done with sway bars, choosing the correct spring rates for your car, and using the right amount of preload.
@804MRMAN7 күн бұрын
@themike97_58 I agree

It was a challenge explaining the complexity of this as everyone has different views. Also worth noting I didn’t explain that these shocks are digressive or linear in both the rebound and compression.

@zbeasty6 ай бұрын
Tried this method and destroyed the 5mm allen at the top of the shock shaft. To avoid this you can remove the hub mount and take the spring off the bottom of the strut. It will mean you'll have to reset your ride height but if you're changing springs you would have to do this anyway.

can't believe in this guys from rtr, this dude win a championship in an s-chassi, in rtr never gets outof seeding bracket and it's saying that mustangs are better? they are harder and it's a challenge to drive them. can't belive that they love mustangs, james just builds s-chassis as personal car and says the same. can't belive it
@redoregan6 ай бұрын
I'm sure these world class drifters competing at the highest level are just dying to hear you lecture them about their own cars. If you think you have something to teach James Deane about the S-chassis, I think you should call yourself an ambulance.
@SCOBra_PT6 ай бұрын
@@redoregan i never say nothing like that, i just think they like s-chassis more than rtr, and are being pressed to say that mustangs are incredible cars
@Stigååå6 ай бұрын
What you forget to mention is that Ben is first season in the PRO class, hes championship is from PROSPEC (if thats what it called), there is a BIG gap in terms of driver skill going up into PRO class. This making alot harder to win battles, specially when learning a brand new chassis as well.
