This looks wasteful. Since it's computerized, it should have had the two triangles face to face for several pairs as well as the blocks. This machine would be better used for applique.

If you read the other comments it seems you can set the cutting up the way you want eg to not waste fabric.

I am glad I looked carefully over the materials and all the tons of quilt block designs included with my machine already. I finally get how all this works together and it's actually much easier than I thought. This is true because I can use the fabric support paper repeatedly, and can even go without it if I use spray starch (get the right kind for quilting!) and a quick ironing. Having those designs already in there and have them so easy to modify make the whole process significantly easier than I thought. This is great, cause I am new to quilting and it is one of the reasons I started looking into these types of cutters to begin with. The Accuquilt is okay but it is hugely expensive whereas I can create my own designs or download some from the Internet for free or purchased, and I can make them any size I want. With Accuquilt you have to buy a whole new cutting piece to get a different size. And each die is like $29-$79 and even more money, which is outrageous. Plus you have to store all those dies, and that costs space and money, too.

Did I miss something on this demonstration? It cuts the size with the 1/4" seam allowance after the "1st" draw just with one line on each shape. Then after cutting the mat is removed but it showed the inner line of the actual quilting size?
@Happybidr
@Happybidr 7 жыл бұрын
jen wang I'm not totally sure what you're asking but I want to try and be helpful....The line that the machine draws is the line you are supposed to sew on. The cut line the machine cut is the outer edge of the seam itself. Try it and you'll see how the seam looks when you fold it back like she did in the video, the seam between the green and red pieces of fabric.

Thank for the tutorial...BUT THE MATS LOOSE THEIR STICKY...EVEN THE SUPPORT MATS...HOW DO YOU CLEAN THEM??? Or is this an on going expense every time you use the machine..very frustrating :-)
@cindyannemroz5439
@cindyannemroz5439 7 жыл бұрын
If you wash your cutting mats (all brands are interchangeable) with a scrubby sponge and dishwashing liquid to remove all gunky leftover adhesive and lay it in the sun to dry it rejuvenates the adhesive. There is also a great spray product called (1) stick away and (2) stick n stay available to clean and restick your mats.

+Ann L No, you can use it multiple times. I don't use it though. For cutting fabric I use the regular mat and treat the fabric with Terial Magic stiffener. It works great.
