could the replacement of the rubber seal have been done while beached and allow the tide to go down?
@StefSea5 ай бұрын
We have friends that have careened their cats with a smaller draft than ours for basic maintenance however saildrive seal replacement is a pretty major job and we didn't want to race a tidal clock. We ran into a few issues putting it all back together with the older parts on ours and some other unforeseen issues arose.

First, I agree with you, sail drives suck! Second, I'm happy to have stumbled upon your channel. I live in Cape Coral and my cat (1995 Privilege 42) is at Diversified getting some work done. Hardest part of living around here is the lack of yards able to pull out a cat. Looking forward to reviewing some of your other adventures!

Beautiful couple, beautiful adventure, beautiful story, beautiful underwater shots, what camera are you using for the stills? I hope to travel in your footsteps one day... I lived on Marathon Key for a few years and I love everything about the ocean, I spent more time on a boat or snorkeling or, the sand bar than I did hanging out with out kids when going to Marathon High... Props for leaving with more than you came (glass/trash) I do this every beach I go to or body of water I enter if only everyone did the world would be a much better place! Subbed and look forward to more adventures
@StefSea6 ай бұрын
We use an Olympus TG5 for the stills, it is a little outdated - purchased in 2018. We are looking to upgrade to a digital slr housing one day! Some footage was taken with a GoPro but we usually don't do stills with that camera. Thanks for following along on the adventure, we love spending time in the Keys.

What kind of clearance do you think those power lines have?
@StefSea7 ай бұрын
Good question! One we never really got a straight answer for other than the power company said 76 feet, but not sure if that took into consideration the drooping in the middle. I would say we cleared it with maybe 3-5 feet overhead but hard to say with any sort of accuracy.
