I don't judge people for buying bootlegs. Sometimes you just don't know any better, especially if you're new to collecting physical media. Often the OG release was strictly limited, never had a re-release and is now super hard to find and extremely expensive. In the 2010s it was pretty common to not release any sort of physical release and I always hate it when there are gaps within an artists discography. It's such a shame that big albums such as A$AP Rockys Testing only were released on streaming platforms. I personally still wouldn't buy bootlegs because I'm delusional in the sense that I believe that every album will be released officially one day. Even Frank Oceans blonde, which you display in the background, was re-released years later. Additionally some shelved underground Hip-Hop albums finally saw the light of day after almost 30 years. So yeah sometimes you just gotta be patient haha

Hi Olin. I discovered your channel about 10 days ago and I've been watching almost all your videos since then. I make note of the bands that you have introduced me to. I went to a record fair yesterday but was disappointed that I found no experimental or ambient music there. So I went to my local record store and found a CD put out by Kranky, a label which you have recommended. I suggest you listen to Kathleen Yearwood and Iva Bittova. I've been listening to both since the late 80s and seen both live at folk fests here in Canada. Looking forward to more videos.

My most valuable CDs are things like Nirvana Nevermind and sublime 40oz to freedom. Rob zombie, slipknot.

Sorry be the latest person to only see your most popular vid so far haha. I love CD collection videos. I started collecting CDs recently and started out getting all the ones I had when I was a kid like original Slipknot. Its so rewarding to not have to pay 35$ for a single album and to sometimes find them for 5$

You mentioned Jeff’s solo album.made me realize,I think I’m really more a fan of Jeff, just playing an acoustic guitar ,and singing all his songs that way.thats what I usually go to.think Jeff and Scott avett are the best writers the last 25 years
