My laptop charger pin has a small resistor which broke off the welded center pin. Can one weld an ordinary copper wire in place of the resistor.

If you can, try to use electrical tape. It will last far longer and it safer. Other tapes will eventually dry out and crack, creating both a fire hazard and an electrical danger to you. But if you can't get electrical tape, use clear tape and change it every so often. Definitely don't use duct tape, because the fabric inside can catch fire.

hi sir please i have a question my laptop charger part of its cable get really hot so the laptop keep disconecting if i cut the damaged part and solder it will be fixed and if it yes the output power of the charger will not change.thank you
