I hope you are well, I watched your channel KZbin video and noticed it ranks lower than others. I was analyzing your KZbin channel. John Vilja struggling with subscribers and video views SEO is lacking, though your content is fantastic. Do you know why your videos aren't attracting more views? Rank tags, one key factor are the insufficient SEO (your videos' SEO score is 0/100 ideally it should be 70). If you want, I can make it 70+ , which will help your channel grow faster. If you SEO your videos properly then the Channel Progress will be very Fast & Subscribers and Views will Increase. If you want I can solve problems and help you rank your videos better. If you are Interested Please Let me know. Best regards, Zalal (KZbin video SEO Expert).

I do wish they'd change the name back to CONFEDERATE Air Force; that had a certain amount of style!
@johnvilja2 ай бұрын
I first learned of the Confederate Air Force back in the '70's when I learned to fly. The read that the name came from the ragtag nature of the group that restored and maintained their original P-51 in Texas. Unfortunately the name, originally created in fun, became linked to the racist rebellion before the existence of airplanes so they voted to remove the name in 2001. According to CAF chief of staff Ray Kinney, "In many people's minds, the word 'confederacy' brings up the image of slavery and discrimination. We, in no way, are associated with that kind of stuff. So, it gives us, in a way, a black eye." I'm glad their still pursuing their mission of restoring and flying these classic aircraft.

BLAH - BLAH - BLAH ... Yes, the museum is great ... Yes, there are many celebrities that frequent the airport (KCMA), and Yes, the views are magnificent even if you didn't fly to get there ... but those are just a minor listing of why you go to the Camarillo Airport. The primary reason is "THE WAYPOINT CAFE". The best food, the best service, and it's right on the tie-down area with planes merely feet from your table. It has a playground area for the kids, you can sit indoor, outdoor patio, or outdoor under the sun. Just remember ... they're closed on Monday. I've been going there for 40 years and loving every minute of it. You'll see me there in my 1965 427 AC Cobra MKIII where I show it to anyone wanting to see, and frequently let children sit in it while their parents take pictures. Life is Good.

Very cool. My dad bought his first airplane, a PT-19, at El Monte Airport for $100.00 back around 1950 before he joined the USAF. He flew it out of Compton Airport and would share stories of flying back to Compton from the Palmdale area. After climbing to altitude he would cut power and glide almost all the way back to Compton and start it back up and land. He saved a lot of fuel back in those days. Miss you dad. RIP.

I got to fly in Doc when she came through Houston a few years ago and it was the flight of a lifetime for me. Such a wonderful crew and aircraft!

Since there are only two flying B-29's it's really a treat to see them. I'm keeping my eyes open for the next local appearances of both Doc and Fifi, the other B-29.

I’m glad they made something out of the Camarillo Airport. In the 70’s I did the hotel n restaurant degree program at the restaurant at the airport thru Moorpark College until prop 13 came

I'm not sure the airport is as popular as it's going to be but it's definitely a great visit right now. I suspect it'll only get better over time.

I won a silent charity auction for a ride in that PT-19 in 2015. I even got 10 minutes of stick time once we were at altitude. It was a blast! Next time I find out Doc comes to town I'll try to buy a ride on it. I don't know if I will be able to cross this next item off on my bucket list: a ride on a P-51 Mustang. A couple times a year one flies over my house in TO. Salutations from a retired KEW Rocketdyner.

It's an amazing experience. I need to follow up to see what other planes are available for rides at the museum. We retired Rocketdyners need to keep exploring the skies!

Don't spill the red wine on the gel coat...
@johnvilja4 ай бұрын
Sage advice! We were only allowed to bring white wine on the boat because they were worried about the teak deck. Soft Scrub by Clorox does a pretty good job removing red wine stains from gel coat.

My brother suggested we meet there so we went to do a mini family reunion. It was surprisingly easy to fly into Spokane and take the short drive to Coeur d'Alene. A very easy long weekend. The Candle in the Woods was a real find for us.

Hey John! Really enjoyed the history of this race. And what a great way to get to the race-so fun! Any chance you will head to Las Vegas for F1?
@johnvilja7 ай бұрын
We really love watching F1 racing even though most races aren't particularly competitive like Indy or sports car racing. Furthermore, the cost of attending in person is ridiculous. General admission for F1 costs the same as the food provided, open bar seats we get at Indy races which have much less predictable outcomes. We keep looking but we're not yet sold on the value of attending F1 just yet.

I've learned that we missed where the frequent visitors like to eat. Here's the list from those in the know: Fat Snook (south Cocoa Beach) Pompano Grill (Cocoa Beach) Sage Bistro (Cape Canaveral) Cafe Margaux (Cocoa Village)

There are some other good launches coming along in the near future. When Blue Origins New Glenn launches it'll be quite a site from Cocoa Beach since their launch pad is the most visible from there. Could be a good reason to go back.

Careful. Very careful. Many vineyards are still deforesting native forests for vineyard development. Avoid Bremer, Davis and 100 Acre and NEVER Hall! Be very careful. Do research. Help us locals keep our watersheds healthy! BTW pretty funny video!

Thanks for your comment. This is an issue about which we don't see much information. Can you share a resource where folks can learn about the issue and where we can learn which vineyards are being most responsible?
