The first time I heard this song was over 30 years ago introduced to me by a top Australian radio broadcaster Ray Hadley. He would sign off his show each day with that song as his closing theme with his signature ending "If you're not there sometime..........you'll need a note". Sadly, he retired after over 43 years of indefatigable service (13 December 2024) and now when I hear this song, I would begin to cry now because it automatically reminds me of him. 😩😭

Ronna Reeves never got the credit she deserved. In the '90s, the new country music female genre was a crowded field - Ronna, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Deana Carter, Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Mindy Mc Cready, Lila Mc Cann, Jessica Andrews, Michelle Wright, Sara Evans, Allison Krauss, Lorrie Morgan, Suzy Bogus, Pam Tillis, Mary Chapin Carter, Patti Loveless, etc. There were so many! I had the privilege to meet and speak with Ronna Reeves and LeAnn Rimes in northern Virginia in the early 1990s. Ronna's "What Comes Naturally" had been recently reIeased and LeAnn was in the Washington D.C. area to light The National Christmas Tree. She was very professional and level headed beyond her years for someone so young (I think she was about 16 at the time). I was impressed with both on a personable level. She had a venture with Target at the time and she released a single "Don't Ever Lose That Light In Your Eyes". As I was walking away, I said to her, "Hey LeAnn, don't ever lose that light in your eyes!". She gave me a big smile and said, "I won't.". When I was talking with Ronna, it was a June evening and it started to rain, but those Texas doe eyes melted me and warmed my heart. I was smitten and still am! I have all her CDs and the one she signed for me that night! ♥️ P.S. I remember Ronna in one of the "Smoky" movie spinoffs. 🙂
