I’ve grown the devil’s lettuce in a red solo cup once😂😂😂😂 but seriously, I love this idea. I got a shelf in my kitchen that I want to use and this method is perfect for my needs

Store potting mix is only to grow marijuana or similarly expensive grass. Otherwise, you spend $200 on soil alone to grow $5 worth of potatoes. It is like if they add to soil gold dust.

Even a veteran 65 yr old grower can learn something new! I already use the double cup to start my bigger crop seedlings and knew that i had. Lots of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash and melons in cups in my garden that were left unplanted (because of covid), still in their cups and started bearing fruit! I'm going to try the lettuce and some other things in my greenhouse this winter. God bless

I just bought that exact bag of peat moss at Lowe’s and it was over $23. The same perlite was $6.97 a bag.

I bought one a couple years ago. The cover gets very brittle after one season. I had little squares of plastic falling in all my plants. I had to throw it away after 1 season. It did work very well though. I only wish the plastic lasted longer.

Hi,in nature there is no seed mix or potting mix, plants germinate with no seed mix and burrow down and find the nutrients they need to grow,man has made garden into a science to take money out of. our pocked,and soil is nature’s drainage.

I came across the two cup method this spring. I viewed a number of videos to get hints. Use a clear cup as the outer cup so you can see if you have to water. Add a string as a wick. Worked great for me this year.

I bought the same greenhouse and it sits in my Backyard. I have secured it as much as possible BUT living in Northern ireland , were is always Rain and sorm, i don't think it will last long ? The back is against a Fence , and i am wondering if i get some wood , place it on the inside of my shed and screw it through the Fabric into the Fence, would this work or would make it weaker and may rip the Plastic ?

I’m on my 3rd season with mine. It’s perfect for my small backyard garden. Mine is on my deck. I put insulation on the floor and cover it with boards, weigh it all down with a small trash bin filled with water, with an aquarium heater submerged in the trash bin. The biggest problem is that if you get a warm day, it will burn up your plants. Ask me how I know? I’m in North Florida, and we can get days in the 50s or 60s in January. You have to really watch the weather and turn off any heating pads or heaters and open it up if you get a warm day. Even without the heaters, the solar radiation will bring temps into the 90s if you don’t open it up on warm winter days.

Your lucky, where I live all ingredients cost the about the same price as a bag of quality potting mix. I save like 5-10$ by buying all ingredients but them I'm stuck having to store all that.

Love the name, I had to go over to MacBeth's YT channel to figure out what Bravo 6 was. Overall, this is has been a very educating evening, LOL. I dig the channel - quick and worthwhile. Fertilizer in the hands. Yup, bucket grower, guilty as charged. I should get a scooper. I'm top-layering my old soil with compost, biochar and gaia's basalt rock dust which smells surprisingly good for a soil supplement. I can't recommend it just yet, but it I'm stoked to try it out.

Pruning and mulching will help, but using a real fungal treatment is really the only way to treat it. Bacilus amyloliquefaciens is a natural bacteria that kills the fungus. It can be found in products by Southern AG. Wettable sulfur is also pretty good too.
@RasCricketSmallAxe6 ай бұрын
I would never use wood chips like that as mulch. They literally hold on to so much moisture. That’s not a good mulch at all.

Add to a 2 gallon sprayer.. 1.5 gallons water, 1 large bottle hydrogen peroxide, 2 Tbsp baking soda, 1/4 c apple cider vinegar, 6 drops dawn dishsoap, 3 Tbsp neem oil, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp ground clove, 4 aspirin crushed to powder, 5 Tums crushed to powder, (dissolve tums and asprin in a little water and pour it in.) If you have any, 2 Tbsp copper mix. Put it all in the sprayer, give it a shake. If the sprayer is not at 2 gallons, fill with water. Spray everything. Shake the sprayer jug as you spray. The soap helps keep it mixed a little, but not completely, so shake it often. Spray the Plants, soil, etc.. This combo kills blight & mildew, but also gets rid of bugs, slugs, larve, etc. bad bacteria, as it adds calcium, and promotes new healthy growth and production. Pull away as much of the blight leaves and plants as possible, before applying spray. Do not touch healthy plants or leaves with your hand if you've touched blighted leaves and plants. You'll spread the spores. So pluck/pull, wash your hands, then apply spray. No, it will not kill nor harm your plants. Do not put any of the pulled plant material in your compost, it will spread through your compost. Throw it away.

Depending on where you live you might not be able to string them and trim all the leaves off. Sun scald on tomatoes will ruin your crop.

Thoughts on Daconil?
@dennishelfrick39916 ай бұрын
Daconil is classified as a class 2B carcinogen, i.e. 'possible' carcinogen. Other class 2B carcinogens include kimchi and other fermented Oriental-style vegetables, drinking excessively hot drinks regularly, and working night shift.
