Good content Guys & some nice kingfish I see use were heading out of the bowentown entrance I do a bit off Surfcasting off Matakana Island During spring & summer got some good size snapper & trevally up @ the bowentown end off Matakana & all along the ocean side of Matakana Island Fishing been pretty slow during winter Surfcasting wise keep up the good mahi guys

Awesome! A good fish on the surfcaster is worth more than off The boat I reckon. Even though we have the boat we still go surfcasting as much as we can. Down near yellow dairy, Waihi Beach. Caught some gurnard this year off the beach which was a first. Pretty awesome spot you got there on Matakana. 👍

@@waterhorse4379 I am pretty lucky I have a good friend who lives over Matakana Island yip Surfcasting is way better over there then in Tauranga I love Surfcasting as I can’t afford a boat lol I think I know which dairy you are talking about & catching a carrot of the beach is awesome Tight lines guys

Hey mate, mayor island is 19.1 miles travel from Bowentown Boat ramp (approx 30km) if I go there and back (60kms) I use approx 1.5 tote tanks. So I would say approx 35-37 litres of fuel.

As you would know 2 tote tanks for quite well in the back of these. If I trawl while I. Out there or do an over nighter I strap 2 x extra 25 litre tanks... I recently did an over nighter at Mayor and I took approx 100 litres of fuel which did me 2 days of trawling and plenty to get out and back. 👍
