i'd much rather it came with two shallow spools or a line reducer for the deeper spool

Can you please tell me what reel you were using pictured in the video at 2:08?

I've recently decided to upgrade my kit. I'm looking for a 10ft 3lb Ext rod. The venues I usually fish are small (up to. 80yds max) and the avg. Carp between 15 - 20lbs. At the moment I’m undecided between Diawa’s Black Widow, Crosscast and Infinity rods. If play/fighting action is a top priority for me, can you please suggest or explain the major differences between these rods? Thanks so much for your help Joe

Very helpful video! Can you recommend a Diawa reel to go with a pair of 10 ft 3lb t/c Kaizen Green rods? A reel with a super smooth drag is my #1 goal. I fish for carp up to 20lbs on small venues and my budget can go up to $200 a reel (but I’d like to stay under $150 but will go higher). Thanks much Joe

Hello, Yesterday, I tested the EXT version and was very impressed. It offers more power reserve than the XT and is faster-exactly what I was looking for. I was about to purchase a set but noticed a design flaw. Due to its telescopic butt section, in time, particles inevitably get trapped between the two sections. Therefore, a removable butt cap is essential for easy cleaning and to remove any abrasive particles. I hope Daiwa engineers will think about it. I have telescopic spinning rods, some +15 years old, for hiking+fishing. I always open the butt cap and wash all the section, let them dry a few days, put the cap back.

I don't understand this english love of spodding. Why don't you use feeding boat. Expensive but cleaner, faster, quiet plus dropping the rig at same time. One good boat could be used for many years
@Hahaha211812 ай бұрын
Most lakes in England have bait boat bans
@nikolaysavchev51652 ай бұрын
Really... Why? It doesn't seems logical. I can't imagine fushing without boat in Bulgaria
@daveprime22732 ай бұрын
Being an English angler that can't afford to fish abroad I don't know about the rules and regulations abroad but here in the UK not every lake here allows bait boats and even fewer allows you to put your mix and rig out with a boat with a out bord motor so the only option is to spom
@biffjkd56112 ай бұрын
Use braid, you best make sure you have a good supply of spombs @ £15 a spomb
@krycek19762 ай бұрын
Good video for beginners. Though I’m not sure I’ll be dipping my spod in nose first to get some water in it unless I want to bait up the margin 🤣
@daveprime22732 ай бұрын
Thanks for reminding me about dunking the spom or spider in the water we use to do that with the spod to help keep the mix in it but it is a very good tip Thanks

My favourite all time carp fishing moment was talking my 6 year old grandson night fishing for the first time and seeing his face all happy the whole time we were there, I've never seen him laugh so much. Unfortunately we didn't catch any fish which was a shame as I really wanted him to catch one. But we had fun teaching him to cast and mixing up the spod mix as I let him choose what bait to use and what to put on the rig. He kept me entertained with question after question about where are we going to sleep, how are you going to make me a hot chocolate, what are going to cook my dinner on 😂. Can't wait to take him again when it dries up a bit as linear fisheries is my go to venue and it's boggy and flooded. Great video and well done on your Hardwick capture 👍
