Stern is and has always been a scumbag. His fans are usually worse.

He did not have to diminish what others believe to lift up his faith. I am a Christian and not a Catholic and the combatative way he expressed his values, or ideology, was my biggest issue and the nuns thankfully got this right away. He came across as prideful, arrogant, and dismissive and Jesus never called for us to behave that way. The Catholic faith to the broader, secular world still has some damage control to do. He is throwing stones when this is the church that for many, many decades physically, mentally and sexually abused children, yet the focus is on protecting the unborn under any circumstance and on how they are brought into the world, rather than on those who are actually born and trying to live and learn about love as we are called to do. Butker did not do Christianity as a whole any favors yet he seems to have emboldened Catholics to proclaim their arrogance, pride and privilege and the exact right roles men and women should embrace which, to me, overshadowed his love of family. There was very little glory for God in his speech and he has left me angry, disappointed, and heartbroken. He seemed to say there was only one way to build a relationship with God and to honor Him and that is just not true. His opinions are not fact. I am glad he defended his faith as we have the freedom to do. but not sure why he felt the need to do that in the Benedictine bubble. Zac Davis in his American Magazine article hits it home for me: www.americamagazine.org/faith/2024/05/16/harrison-butker-benedictine-college-commencement-catholic-247958 Near the end of his speech, Mr. Butker tells the graduates, “Everything I am saying to you is not from a place of wisdom but rather a place of experience.” But to my ear, his speech sounds less like the result of experience than an all-encompassing ideology. There is no other reason that gender roles, Covid-19 policies, liturgical preferences and abortion should all fall under the same coherent theme of a commencement address. Unless, of course, you wear your views like a team uniform-and everyone who disagrees is an opponent if not an enemy to be defeated. Without a doubt, there are things in our culture that the church should stand against. But we should beware that we do not close ourselves off to the world in doing that. For my money, if the church has any chance of growth in our culture, it will need to come from attraction-from beautiful liturgies, yes, but also from our humble service to the vulnerable and prophetic calls for a more just society. And for all the media coverage and viral TikToks about his speech, there was not much in there that was attractive. Mr. Butker quoted the lyrics of his “teammate’s girlfriend” (Taylor Swift), “familiarity breeds contempt.” But he demonstrated what contempt for the outside world breeds.

Have more Mulattos on, Sage. We need to be elevating, spotlighting, uplifting, celebrating, & connecting with each other & showing the world that we are indeed our own race. If we don't support each other, no other groups or media outlets will.

Someone I know said there is no such thing as multitasking. People say the dumbest things. Aside from Vivek’s heavy schedule, the key to success is time management. Funny, aside from all of this, the person who made this comment clearly doesn’t have any restaurant or bakery experience. Multitasking is coupled with time management. Any Executive Chef, Pastry Chef, and most culinary experts know this. Juggling family and politics is doable. You just need a bunch of babysitters. 😂👏🏼 Having a family is a blessing. People dismiss it as having baggage, but our children are the future. Just like Whitney said.

"Juggling family and politics is doable. You just need a bunch of babysitters." You literally just proved my point. Juggling family and politics is "doable", but it won't be balanced and having babysitters is definitely NOT balance. Multitasking should go without saying, especially at their level because they're ALL great at multitasking. Again, i'm talking about the highest levels of our government. You can be the absolute best at multitasking, but having an ideal work and family balance isn't in the cards. It's not a new concept and they all know that. I'm actually glad Vivek didn't try to say he was able to do it, instead he said it wasn't there.

There isn't a balance, nor should there be. It's a sacrifice that is made, which will hopefully be understood by the children later in life. Obviously not ideal, but serving in such positions require life-long dedication and isn't for everyone.

Stern is a weasel. His humor is for the ignorant and soulless, low resolution thinker. Sage Steele is far more interesting than Stern. I believe, if the Epstein files are ever revealed, Howard Stern's name would be on that list.
