Can the system pass Caller ID along to the analog ports, light neon Message Waiting lamps on 2500 style sets? When using legacy Nortel Aries digital sets, how close does it emulate original CS1000 type set programming? For instance can you have a multiple appearances of the same DN (directory number), non ringing appearances of other DN's?, primary DN's secondary DN's, hunt features, auto dial keys, etc? We're looking to migrate off a Option 81 with about 100 analog sets and 100 digital M2616 / M2008 existing sets.

Is there any way to have multiple parking lots?
@emetrotel
@emetrotel Жыл бұрын
At present, only one parking lot is supported. To have separate groups for placing calls on hold, you can consider using the Shared Call Appearance feature instead. Here's the link to the feature description for SCA: www.emetrotel.com/tsd/main-categories/shared-call-appearances

_"These kind of customers typically don't want to be bothered with internet, Voice-Over-IP capabilities, or can't deal with the fact that they have poor bandwidth at their location. They also may have wiring for digital phones as opposed to ethernet drops at all locations."_ Now correct me if I'm wrong but the E-MetroTel DSM16 module (which is what the Norstar/BCM digital phones connect to) connects to the Galaxy Mini via LAN, so it would still involve an internet connection with sufficient bandwidth. And what's scary about this is that if the LAN goes down, not only the IP phones (if there is any) go down but the DSM16 module goes down along with all of the digital phones connected to it! So that would be an even worse scenario compared to other hybrid PBX's where if the LAN went down the IP phones would go down but the digital phones would remain unaffected.

@@emetrotel I actually had been wondering about that, that is if you could just simply use a single ethernet cable to connect one end to the WAN port on the Galaxy Mini and the other end to the port on the DSM16 without having anything to do with the LAN infrastructure. If that's the case that would make me confident that the digital phones would work flawlessly, even if the LAN happens to go down. So I take it the same thing can be done on the UCx250/UCx450 with the Galaxy Express module if the customer happens to have M2000/M3900 Series digital sets. Thank you for your informative response.

The Galaxy Expand looks like a really nice system and a really great migration path for the Meridian 1 & CS1000 as it seems to have most if not all of the features of the Meridian 1 & CS1000 as well as the newer VoIP features. But my main complaint that I would levy against it is that it doesn't support the M1250/M2250 attendant consoles, this would be a big deal especially for hospital switchboards that rely on these consoles. I've heard that one of E-MetroTel's recommended migration paths for the consoles is the Infinity One client, but as far as I know the Infinity One client doesn't support all of the legitimate attendant console features such as Release Source and Release Destination, not to mention that it doesn't support the unique way of transferring a call by simply dialing the extension number and pressing release without having to press transfer.

that is so cool. Being somewhat new to the UCX, I was actually wondering about that. So, I'm guessing that means I could use a "Square" template on a UCX phone system? People are so reluctant to give up their universal Line appearances! :-)

Why is a phone system with line appearances known as a square template?
