'''the field of prosody, which studies the rhythm, stress, and intonation of speech'''..are the keywords that lead me to this internet GOLD!!! studying how to fit lyrics to melody in song composition.. this is so good OnGod(a lil slang) ;as I am intentionally crafting this comment in hopes the algorithm Gods align this to those of us who use KZbin for music insight sir. thank you.. if I was a betting man, I'd say you'd triple your subscribers of those of us aspiring artists, by delving into these subjects on a lyrical aspect. My struggle is not the melody, or harmonies, its the fleeting nature of musical ideas by not fleshing out the lyrical aspects, so I'm on KZbin College tonight trying to grasp the understanding of "phonetical" clues(I sound hella novice right now), but it was the only keyword I could think of when exploring this, having that "aha" moment when "prosody" was presented was a defining moment for me sir. WOW... more more more

I was born with a bilateral cleft lip & palate. I have had several surgeries since to repair the issues, but there still is at least some muscle missing in my upper lip. I remember years ago my doctor mentioning that there was muscle missing from my upper lip, though I don't remember if he said specifically how much was missing (I am certain the muscle that is missing is the part that is directly under the part of the nose that separates the 2 nostrils because I remember him mentioning it, but I don't know for sure if that is all the muscle that is missing). Anyways, my upper lip has that "flat lip" look that some cleft lip / palate people have after their surgeries (my upper lip is not shapely like "normal" lips people have, but more flat looking). I think it is important to point out that there is no gap in my upper lip and it is not out of alignment. It is basically normal looking... except for the flat look it has. My question is: Can any amount of missing muscle in the upper lip cause it to look flat and not have the normal appearance a lip should have? And, can an upper lip missing muscle have an effect on the functionality of the upper lip? (such as puckering to kiss someone, or to form words when speaking). Any info you can give me about these issues will be greatly appreciated by me.

Thank you very much for your super useful and precious knowledge. I am a master student, and I am doing my thesis. Could you possibly provide us with sources so that we can cite them in our work? Thank you once again. Wish you lots of joy.
