It would be a fluctuating connection it would not be a stable connection plus if something obstructs the light your connection will be lost this would be ideal for private networks that you don't want to leave a certain area or range, four example if you wanted a private network within a building that you don't want anybody else to have access to you can isolate it to a certain individual room, only those who have access to that room and that light spectrum will be able to use that network, this could be highly secure unless the room has Windows Where the Light can escape from

I do not think this is good enough. 50Mbps is lowish, and there range and placement limitations, are going to be a huge obstacle for this in any environment (home, office, etc). For example in home you would have most of computers connected over wired over Ethernet with 1Gbps or faster speeds, or small WiFi cells in each room, with greater mobility and less setup. If this could support 1Gbps or 2Gbps full duples out of the box, then maybe, there would be some use cases for dense offices, where it could work. It looks like a solution trying to find a problem. I am sure tech is sound, and there is quite a bit work put into it, but either next gen must be WAY better, or it is dead in the waters.
