I just dont see how the Chargers are going to be a heavy run team with their current personnel. Edwards is 29, never had 200 carries in a season and appears to be more effective in the 8-10 carries a game range. Dobbins is done. Counting on him is a pipe dream and Spiller is complete garbage. Is Vidal going to get 200+ carries?

I keep drafting Vidal. Dobbins is done. Let's not pretend he's suddenly going to stay healthy so that leaves a 29 year old who cant catch and has never been a volume guy as the "feature back." When given role last year suddenly became a slightly below average runner from a YPC standpoint. It's very hard to see him holding up to 18-20 touches a game for very long. Someone is going to get at least 8-10 carries in addition to Edwards and someone is going to have to be the third down back. Spiller is absolute garbage so who else beside Vidal?

I don’t get this fields vs Russell take.. so even though fields hasn’t shown he can play within structure since he’s been in the league you somehow determine he’ll be better then Wilson because he WANTS to play within structure? Like what?

You can not like Levis and like Spears, if you think the Titans play catch up, you like their third down or pass catching back. See: Maurice Jones-Drew.

As for Moss/Brown, as a Bengals fan who listens to the beat writers, it seems Moss is the favorite as the early down and goal line back, Brown the favorite as the passing down back. That said, Brown improved at running between the tackles during the last half of last season. Brown also improved at pass pro. Brown is clearly viewed as the home run back, one of the biggest concerns for the offense in the offense was to get more explosive. So I think Moss is the reliable option to a degree but Brown will get every chance to get snaps and the more Brown can be trusted, the more snaps he’ll get. Moss does have some injury history. No one expects Trayveon Williams to get many snaps, he’s more a backup who they trust in pass protection. Chris Evans is a special teams role player. Chase Brown could take over the majority of the rushing load, I don’t think he’ll be worse than the passing down back. Neither back will be the “next Mixon”, this will be a committee backfield of two. The Bengals in the past have been too predictable with two back backfields (Hill/Gio), so both Moss and Brown will get chances at different roles. Zack Moss AND Chase Brown can certainly give us more than Mixon did, and they’ll get every chance to give us that. Mixon was let go 1. Because he struggled in bltiz pickup 2. Declining explosive play rate 3. Price tag. Moss’s two year deal is really a one year deal. The Bengals want Brown to succeed and be the future, or at least part of the future at RB.

Im a little interested in dowdle, why couldn’t he take over the backfield
@adamwallace76382 күн бұрын
Dowdle looks good, I’d invest in him if I could. He’s the new pollard but he doesn’t have obvious upside of being THE gu, he will always have a running mate. He should be cheap to have tho
@AreYouAfraidoftheLight2 күн бұрын
Betting on Dowdle to takeover this backfield is fine where he’s going right now. I’d assume he will in fact be the starter. But the line isn’t what is used to be and Zeke will still most likely be involved in goal line and is trusted on third downs as a blocker. Pollard succeeded when the o line was borderline elite.

The Burrow injury happened against Baltimore in week 10 last year, Burrow was sacked and as he fell back he braced his fall using his throwing hand, and the extra weight coming down on his wrist caused the damage. It’s a fluke injury that apparently doesn’t happen to QBs, it usually happens to LBs or linemen, so there’s no real precedent for timeline since the types of players with this injury don’t rely so heavily on their wrist. Burrow and the club are being understandably cautious because Burrow in the past has ignored pain during practice, and this cost him last year coming off the calf injury. So I understand why people are worried but both Burrow and Taylor have said if there’s any pain at all they’re going to have Joe rest, because they want him ready for the season, not for OTAs or training camp. The staff and Burrow have said rehab is on schedule for Burrow to be ready for week one. The NFL in its infinite wisdom scheduled the Bengals at Baltimore exactly one year after the injury so that will be all we hear about the week of the game. I think Burrow will be ready, he’s already thrown normally with velocity during OTAs, they’re just being cautious. Burrow has had some bad luck and you’re right he’s a competitor and wants to go full go all the time. But he’s put on extra muscle and has said multiple times he needs to listen more to his body. These are good signs. Burrow had surgery on his wrist right away after the injury and he’s still young, these facts indicate optimism for optimal recovery.

Immaculate Reception is similar to the Music City Miracle (Titans didn't win the SB, either). Wasn't the MCM also the game when the BIlls had just made an unbelievable comeback, and the QB even lost his shoe on the drive to take the lead at the end of the game?
