Thanks Doug! 20 feet is a lot to cover but it can be done! Some days it just won’t work though and birds will flair off of it. Gotta be strategic and find overhanging trees or a nice backdrop. Sometimes in those high tides your hidden perfectly in the grass and cat tails and then all of a sudden your higher than all the grass and sticking out haha! It’s definitely a game changer though and has opened up a lot of areas.

@tazoutdoors Hey Todd, Assuming those are LED Lites on your bow, how many lumens are each one? Are they "flood", "spot" or a combination of both? Either way I bet they're bright!! A lot better than holding a spotlight I imagine!
@tazoutdoors3 күн бұрын
@@joepodunk284 not sure on the lumens but here is the Amazon description: Rigid Industries 106312 E-Series 6" Combo Spot/LED Flood Light Bar, black. Yep combo, and they do work great, but sometimes running in the dark on the Columbia it doesn’t matter. I’ll opt to use my electronics more so, and if it’s foggy it’s pointless to even turn them on! They really help when I’m just looking for a spot along the shoreline, and I’ll even use them to set up deeks. I also run an M18 spotlight so I can pan the shoreline manually and check for deadheads.

Hi Todd! Wow tough hunt with it so dry, like walkin on "Corn Flakes Cereal"!! I couldn't tell either in the footage if you hit that buck or not, at 21:34 I could see he was running right at you, thinking it was a clean miss, unfortunately, all though I'd rather miss than make a bad shot! Was this an either buck hunt or was it species specific?(Muley/Whitetail) Saw the first couple were Whitetail. Isn't it amazing to see the growth of clear-cuts that we remember hunting in our youth! I can't remember that unit your dad hunted (and wouldn't say here) but sure looks like a great area!! I didn't draw my Eastern tag so I'm hunting the West side this year. Almost tagged out yesterday down at the coast but they put the slip on me 😂, not hard to do down there! Thaks for sharing.
@tazoutdoors22 күн бұрын
Oh my yes, it was so dry. I had to put captions in the video for ya'll because between the crunchiness and me whispering you probably can't hear anything! You are right, after my second shot it started running at me. That's exactly what I saw for a moment, and I tried to see through the scope and it was ALL blurry! In Eastern Oregon I can shoot either a muley or whitetail. I was happy with either / or as long as it was 3-point or better on this hunt anyway. Although, like I mentioned in the vid I would have taken a fork on that last day. Thanks for watching! Elk, and Duck coming soon!👍

When 360 fishing never pump as you reel. As you grab the rod out of the holder give it a good reel while you bend the rod to set the hook (don't violently jerk it like you would set a bass or anything, just a good solid bend back and reel). Then keep the rod tip steady and bent and keep reeling. I usually loosen the drag during the fight just enough that the fish has room to run like the other guy said. Once the fish is close to the boat I keep the rod lower toward the water because if you have the rod tip up high the lead weight will come out of the water and make your rod bounce up and down, that's how a lot of people lose fish at the boat. Once the fish is ready get the weight to the rod tip and lift it into the net. All that being said I've found the fish are either hooked well or not, I've done the opposite of those things, everything wrong and still netted the fish and other times had perfect form and lost it. Getting a good hook set and consistent reeling are the most important.

Hey Todd! Doug here, Great to see you again! Happy birthday to the "OG TAZ"! Cool to see you and the kid's wishing Pappa a happy birthday.🥲 Caught the vid of you losing your G-loomis and my heart went out to ya, Damn! I've noticed you change flashers, superbaits and spinners but have you tried changing bumper and leader lengths? Longer bumper will spin the 360 slower and wider, Shorter will tighten the spin and speed it up. Leader length longer less action on bait, shorter will increase the action. Might get better results trying that rather than changing color of flashers? Waterfowl season is almost here!! Hope you have a great season and look forward to seeing some of those videos also! Good luck my friend,👍
@tazoutdoorsАй бұрын
Hi Doug! Appreciate the comments man, very helpful. I did mess with the leader length, but I feel like I just kept getting shorter and shorter as the season went on. I didn't even think about bumper length much, I'm guessing the max I have is 20" so I'm probably rolling either 18" or 20". I'll definitely pay more attention to that and do some more experimenting. Yes indeed I am looking forward to duck season, always!! I'm not even ready yet and the season starts in a few days, haha! I'll hit it hard come November for sure though. If you look closely at the footage you can see that rear part is not closed all the way. One half is above the other, it is not even and that only means one thing, it is not closed. User error, thats on you. There is no way a Folbe can come open on its own, especially if you're using heavy weight.
