Damn, saw this amazing video and was looking forward to seeing your final decision and experience with the bag, but this was the only video!

2024 dialing in. Great video review and unbelievably this pack is still $200 three years after your review. Still completely worth it.

I literally just bought that exact bag in that exact color and used it on a short trip. It is now my favorite bag ever. Your review is spot on and I didn’t catch that little hidden zipper area in the larger compartment. Thank you.!

what is your opinion between the 35L and the 42L
@barr08 Жыл бұрын
Very useful info. I have the 42l version of this bag and love it! I got an old model 35l from REI's used site for shorter trips and plan on returning it for the new model due to the lack of a removable hip belt. Your video helped verify that there were no other reasons to keep the old model. Thanks!

how did you like the travel bag? pacsafe's are good too, 45L to add to your indecisiveness.

Hey there! Haven't gotten to do any international travel yet (that's coming up at the end of next month) but from the domestic traveling I've done via plane, it's pretty great! Very sturdy and almost looks better with wear.
@truneilson2 жыл бұрын
Did it not come with an add on mesh water bottle pocket? Update on the bag?
@aredheadboy2 жыл бұрын
No mesh water bottle holder, I feel like they may sell that as an add on but not sure. Update is so far the bag has been great for the domestic travel I've been able to do! Just enough space and flies well as a carry on.

Nicely done Devon. Have the old version and love it. First time I used it I couldn't close the laptop sleeve zipper after packing the bag, but soon realized it was because I had cranked down the compression straps (I don't use cubes). Once I loosened the straps a little, the laptop zipper closed easily. Just in case that's useful.

I always use a kanken as my day pack too. It's so universal, and itll definitely let you blend into the local crowd, especially in Europe. Very unassuming which is nice

Bags that are half the price are water proof
@orbispictus61273 жыл бұрын
Can you name some? As far as I know, most waterproof bags are expensive. And by waterproof term, I mean 100% waterproof. For ex: MEC vapour overnight pack ($70 clearance price) are pretty waterproof at the level of outer fabric and seams but not the zippers. So we can't label it 100% waterproof but highly water resistant.

Gotta say Devon, this was a great first video. Didn't expect to open up your channel and see there wasn't any previous content. You seem pretty comfortable, and presented good content. Good job, and hopefully you can start travelling soon, despite the restrictions we're all subject too right now...

Thanks for the comprehensive review. It seems the bag is a little compromised in terms of security, for example the side opening on the large clothes compartment seems does not seem to be lockable?
@aredheadboy4 жыл бұрын
Not really safely lockable. The only thing stopping someone from getting past your lock would be the piece of fabric that the zippers zip past when they're closed. Those little loops will make it super difficult for thieves to get into, but if you're looking for something to lock up like a bank vault then this definitely won't work for you
@TheOYENDRILA4 жыл бұрын
Loved the little things you mentioned - rain cover, the secret camera placement, hip belts. The review addresses all my expectation and concerns for a bag. Keep up the great work.
@Zjankku4 жыл бұрын
So the 35L version doesn't have the small top pocket in laptop compartment like 42L has?
@aredheadboy4 жыл бұрын
Unless you mean the little inside pocket in the laptop compartment for an iPad or something, then it must not

Thanks for your review! I've been looking at this bag, and I didn't realize that the new version doesn't have the compression straps inside the big compartment. That isn't a deal breaker for me since I do use packing cubes, but it's something to be aware of. Most of the reviews I've seen are of the older version of the bag, so really the only difference I knew about was that the new version has that removable hip belt. (This matters to me - I'm not a huge fan of hip belts on a travel pack, but it's nice to have the option of using it if I have to walk a really long way for some reason - which has happened to me before.)
@twistedxvengeance15 күн бұрын
The new version of the 35L also has a water bottle pocket where as I believe the old one didn't.
