Really enjoyed this after work, particularly the toe bind, surprised myself with being able to do it with both legs off the ground and enjoyed the challenge! Thank you for a lovely practice xx

I love love this series! I am a Hindu from India and can pronounce Sanskrit. Chakra is pronounced as the Ch in church or chair. Best way would be to say- Chuck-ra

Thank you so much. I have corrected my pronunciation since making this video! I'm so glad you like the series :)

I am an Indian and the only thing I know about yoga is the correct pronounciation of the Sanskrit words. Rest I am learning from you and other Indian youtubers.

FYI - for around HALF the price, you can get a mat that's made from the same materials, has the same dimensions and thickness as the Liforme and Yogi Bare: The Plyopic Ultra Grip Pro Yoga Mat. And what's even better is Plyopic also do a Pro+ and a Lite version if you prefer a mat that's thicker or more portable 🙂

Thank you for explaining this so nicely! I was anxious to try out one of these as I’m not the most flexible person in the world but wasn’t sure which one is the right one to try.. think hatha makes sense right now and as I build confidence I’d like to try vinyasa.. I did try yin yoga recently and absolutely loved it!

Isn't yin yoga so lovely?? I'd definitely recommend Hatha first and see how you go :)

I also think it's a huge green flag when an instructor incorporates non-asana limbs of yoga in the practice. Like leading a pranayama practice or talking about one of the yamas or niyamas in relation to the sequence.

Hi Emily, I really enjoy your yoga sessions especially the yin and would love to see them more often 🙂 I love the variation in your content and think that as a yoga teacher and teacher trainer you always touch on the essence of yoga which is so often lost these days.

What do you think about countdowns? I'm attending a ytt online (a very popular one) and the teacher starts a countdown for each asana. it gives me anxiety and really breaks my mindfulness as she starts "ten, nine, eight.." with a very shrill voice. She sounds like an alarm clock. I'd like to know if I'm the only one who can't stand that, I find it very disruptive. My past yoga teachers said things like "Let's stay here for another deep breath" for example, and they actively tried to modulate their voice. I've already bought the course so I will complete it, but I find it a relief as I finish a class and I know that yoga shouldn't feel like this 😢
@EmilyRowellYoga21 күн бұрын
That's an interesting one. I haven't come across any teachers who countdown but I imagine I would struggle to stay present in that situation. At least you know that's something you don't want to do in your own teaching!

Thank you Emily for the recommendations. I purchased The Four Agreements and the Embrace Yogas Roots books. Just read The Four Agreements and it is just perfect. I am so excited to start living it and want to start with showing you my appreciation and my love. ❤ Live well.

Namaste still means what it used to be, and you initial knew it when you used to include it. If it's a common practice in one culture or religion, that doesn't change it's meaning. It just tells how spiritually rich that culture is.
