Nice discussion. James Earl Jones was NOT The Wizard in the stage musical THE WIZ - Andre De Shields played the Wizard in the Broadway show. You might be confusing, Geoffrey Holder with Mr Jones: Mr Holder was the director and costume designer for the Broadway show; whom has a STRONG resemblance to Mr Jones. Many publicity photos include Mr Holder because he was a strong creative force in the production of THE WIZ. And Geoffrey Holder is an accomplished actor; so again, it can be understandable if people believe Mr Jones had an affiliation with THE WIZ. And Judy Garland has a living daughter named Liza Minelli. And sorry: Boq, in the stage musical, knows Elphaba, cast the spell that changed him to the Tin Man - he acknowledges this in the song: “March of the Witch Hunters”… (and she is blamed for the Lions lack of courage).

It was theatrical released. In 1983 (which was also the year I was born) when it premiered, it was shown before The Resucers when it was re-released that year.

The growing and shrinking is pretty simple, just by switching out set pieces and adding puppets and stuff. That would be one of my favourite scenes. Then you could make the cat an animation projected onto scenery. I really would love to see how you resolved these
