Some good info in there, but you didn't discuss the most obvious problem with Genesis 1: in order to believe Genesis 1 is "literal", you have to deny all of modern archeological science. You have to believe in the incompetence of all archeologists worldwide when it comes to carbon dating bones/fossils. Events of Genesis 1 occurred roughly 6000 years ago, therefore the fossils of ALL creatures that ever lived would have to be less than 6000 years old. Naturally, this would mean, among other things, that all dinosaurs are less than 6000 years old AND lived at the same time as humans. I could go on and on... but this problem is irreconcilable (IF interpreting Genesis literally). If interested, I have a theory that somewhat clears this problem up, but it requires Genesis 1 NOT being interpreted literally.
