The seahawks didn't draft him because he is a defensive monster. They drafted him because he knows how to get open and can use his speed to run past the defense, and he also has great hands which is a huge positive 🤣

He could be, but I wish I knew more about him. Didn't get a chance to watch a lot of his film last year cause I wasn't really scouting any Georgia defensive player outside of Kamari Lassiter. However, he is still 19 years old and only a few months older than me (lol) and doesn't at all have to declare. But from what I've heard about him, he was a 2nd Team All SEC DT/EDGE who has great strength and is a good pass rusher. At 6'5 - 265 he does have the size. I'm definitely keeping my eye out for him next year.

I see the vision with Perkins, but I really hope for the sake of his development/draft stock, LSU let’s him to commit to one of off ball linebacker or edge for most of his snaps next year. Cause a tweener guy like Micah Parsons both getting drafted early and working out, is the exception not the rule. And even he has effectively transitioned to being a full time edge.
@AlexReganNFL
@AlexReganNFL 13 күн бұрын
Hasson Reddick is another recent example of a tweener that had that positional flexibility, but once he got to the NFL he had to choose. Couldn’t crack it at off ball, went to the Panthers on a 1 year deal as an EDGE, got 10+ sacks and then got a deal with the Eagles and became an all-pro. With me, Perkins feels best and most impactful as an EDGE, but he isn’t as big as an EDGE should be. He’s 6’1 - 220. If he can maintain that tenacity as a blitzing EDGE while being great in coverage, just keep him where he’s at in the NFL.

Na definitely not. They weren't gonna win that game. Adonai was the huge reason for that initial touchdown, but they had a chance. Ewers is sketchy to me. 2 years of film and something just doesn't seem to click with me. Maybe its the arm. Maybe its the accuracy.

With all due respect, he didn't go to "Washington University". He attended the University of Washington, aka UDub (short for U-Double-U, UW). It's hard to take your review seriously when you make such an egregious mistake. Washington University is in St. Louis, Missouri, and is not known for their football program.

Didn't like the pick much. 2nd round guy, 51st on my big board. I got bit hard for Tyree Wilson last year, and I don't believe all that much in pure power guys with long wingspans who don't have another move they consistently go to. In the Top 10 EDGE rushers or even Top 20, there are only like 2-3 PURE power rushers, the rest have already evolved and developed moves like Garrett.

Adams is going to play Guard, he is an absolute mauler. Great pick in my opinion, also I think you are far too low on Robinson, if you say a bit of a reach I could understand but he is a very good DT prospect
@AlexReganNFL
@AlexReganNFL Ай бұрын
Isaiah Adams cannot pass block. Dude is one of the worst pass blockers in this class. 9 sacks allowed and 31 pressures. 55 pass blocking grade was generous. I’m low on Robinson because look at Tyree Wilson. Similar styles of play, and if you are a 1 trick pony (power/bull rush), then your ceiling is limited. Not that many true power rushers on the EDGE are really that elite anymore. If he was a true DT this would be a different story but he’s a tweener (5t-4i)

The Steelers draft was incredible. My only slight concern with the O-line and Arthur Smith is that I'm not 100% sold on Zach Frazier's ability to be a move blocker in a scheme like his. He seemed to operate better blocking north/south.
@beanie3427
@beanie3427 Ай бұрын
Its so interesting to see all the different ways people evaluate classes. Using the Cardinals as an, I had nearly identical grades on all of their picks individually, but I gave their draft class a C and it was ranked as my 24th best class. My reasoning was that when you have such an immense amount of draft capital, I'm going to judge your class relative to those expectations. And it seems like you are grading it more from a perspective of the judging the raw amount of talent they brought in. And from that viewpoint, its clear that the Cardinals got way more raw talent than most teams did. Its probably the same reason I had a team like the Browns ranked higher. Just kind of interesting.
@AlexReganNFL
@AlexReganNFL Ай бұрын
Ye I can only judge based on the volume and quality of the picks relative to who was on the board and your positions of need. So the Cardinals hit volume and quality on a lot of their picks, meanwhile the Browns didn’t have a lot of volume and did a fine job. But their class will have a lot less impactful players than the Cardinals. Thats my reasoning usually. How many of these guys were 1.good picks and 2. Near future impact players
@beanie3427
@beanie3427 Ай бұрын
It feels like the draft grades you give relative to your actual prospect grades are a little inconsistent. For example, you gave the 49ers a B, B+, and A+ for spending a 3rd and two 4ths on prospects that had a 6.10, 6.14, and 6.15 grade. But then with the Eagles, you gave them a B- for taking a 6.13 prospect way later in the 6th round. To me it seems like getting that kind of value deserves a better grade, or that having to spend 3rd/4th round value on a similarly graded prospect should get a worse grade. But I do get that other factors like scheme, fit, and need might play into it. That one just kinda jumped out at me because I didn't see an obvious reason for it to be lower.
@beanie3427
@beanie3427 Ай бұрын
Also as a second example, Dylan Laube in the 6th getting an A- as a 5.97 grade vs the Wilson example I gave above getting a B-.
@AlexReganNFL
@AlexReganNFL Ай бұрын
So for me my draft grades are relative to how good I think the prospect is. It doesn’t correlate as heavily to rounds per se (I always try to make that a point of emphasis). The colors are indicative of the rounds I WOULD take the prospects, but I’d much rather a guy like Javon Baker or Malachi Corley in the 2nd (both third round grades) than Trey Benson or Tyler Nubin (again 3rd round grades). So if I think a player went to a good scheme fit, good situation, wasn’t overdrafted, and was one of the best at their position on the board at the time, they are likely to get a high grade. Laube I had as an early 6th but he went to a team where he can contribute right away and has high upside. A pick that was good value that I didn’t like was more like Darius Robinson I gave D+ he was the best EDGE on the board and was projected to go there, but I’m a little lower on him, I don’t love the scheme fit, and was lower on the pick. The round it only indicative of where I would pick them in a vacuum, not if they should or should not go in that round.

Weakness is he's too short? Like have we already forgotten about aaron Donald? Murphy has the same build essentially. And he's 21 give him a year or 2 to build his core and he'll be a great!
@AlexReganNFL
@AlexReganNFL Ай бұрын
He is plain and simple shorter. 6’0 297 pounds is a little under but it doesn’t make that much of a difference. The biggest thing that means is he’s limited when it comes to batted balls. But he isn’t as explosive of fast at Donald, who is essentially a 1 of 1 DT. But I love Murphy. My 9th best player this year but everybody’s got weaknesses.

He’s so damn good!!! Steelers got a definite steal and I respect that as a Packers fan! I will be honest with ya, the best one in the NFL draft is Edgerrin Cooper, the league had him rated one over due to Wilson’s injuries and stuff but Cooper and Wilson were the two top LBs that are going to set the bar high for future LBs to come cuz these two bring a high profile of athleticism and incredible tackling machines they both are! I love Cooper a little more than Wilson but Wilson is a DAWG and he’s going to be so fun with Queen! The Steelers defense is like the Ravens! Except having 2 freaky athletic LBs

Lions fan that agrees entirely with your takes. Holmes has a habit of reaching with his 3rd round picks. He tends to take a guy there that will boom or bust and Manu reminds me a lot of Martin last year where, other than being massive, I don't see it. I watched Martin's tape last year and hated it as he was just a big dude that played high and was kind of mediocre at everything. A flash here and there but not a 3rd or 4th round guy. Manu here is just a massive, athletic dude that played competition so low that you can only critique the technique...and that was awful. I don't get it but hope it pans out. Other than that I liked the draft they had and it was another year of not getting cute. Take the player you like, don't put too much weight into "value" because that becones meaningless if they pop anyway. I think think both 6th rounders will not only make the team but will see a lot of action on their rookie seasons.

My issue isn’t Penix as a player, my issue is why did they pick him while they still have Cousins. They also didn’t have a great draft regardless of Penix. Orhorhoro was a crime over Newton, and the only thing to save their draft was a good value pick in Trice who has an extremely low ceiling.
