That's a CFI question, lol. Flew once in training when it was snowing slightly, but after 2 passes around the pattern we landed just to be safe even though it was "technically" vfr conditions.

The Appalachian Mountains in WV, but according to the Logan County Airport, the region says "Hatfield and McCoy Mountains" as the tourism region, lol. transportation.wv.gov/aeronautics/AirportBrochures/6L4-FINAL.pdf

It's not a cheap hobby by any means, but a fun one especially if you can find a plane to partner in or a local flying club. The best advice for getting your licenses...pay all the money to do it in one chunk. Little bit here, little bit there only costs more in the long run.

There it is! If you watch the original Robin video (linked in my previous comment) that instructor is cool as a cucumber even having the student calmly place his hands on dash before opposite rudder. (My instructors always just said "ailerons neutral" which I guess is technically the same thing, lol.)

Not sure where you're at, but ask friends and family. Chances are you may already know someone but NOT know that they fly. Pilots are always looking for people and excuses to take their planes out!
