Creating a female clone of a man is possible if cloning is doable. A female has two X chromosomes, while a male has one X and one Y. Since a male already has an X chromosome, you’d just use two copies of his X and leave out the Y. This way, the clone would be genetically female. [Hope this makes it clear!]

OK - serious comment: I believe the thing with the Bad Batch is that they can't be cloned reliably because of the very mutations that make them special [speaking as someone with a bit of background in biology, I gotta say the logic doesn't fit with what I know about cloning but hey, this is not our universe, and if they could clone the bad batch, it would mess with the story - so let's just let them have their excuse 🐵]

Sabine‘s mum specifically was deathwatch or a member of deathwatch more to the point, they became part of crimson Dawn, which was Maul’s criminal faction after he became ruler of Mandalore and there was a split between those who sympathised with Maul, and those with Bo Katan Kryse sister of Satine Kryse former Duchess of Mandalore. After Ahsoka’s successful siege on Mandalore and capture of Maul with his eventual escape, Mandalore is no longer part of Crimson Dawn as Bo Katan is looking to rebuild. Satine & Bo are house Kryse (house insert Mandalorian surname) Clan Wren (Sabine’s house/surname) House Visla (house that clan Wren is loyal too) Sabine ended up in the imperial Academy and then ended up becoming a bounty Hunter, then joins the ghost crew as Spectre five (consisting of Hera, Kanan, Chopper and Garazeb “Zeb”). Keeping in mind, she joins the crew of the ghost before Ezra in the events of Spark of rebellion, who ends up becoming spectre six

I don't think it ever really gets clarified in the series (pls let me know if it does then I'll delete my commebt) but Sabine's family never followed Maul. Her mother was loyal to Pre Viszla and joined Bo-Katan's splinter group when he was killed. She fought alongside Bo-Katan and Ahsoka during the siege of Mandalore (I think we actually see her there)

And this episode is the only thing the Kanan Comic spoils if you can even call it that. The comic had weekly release that started when season two aired. The protectors of Concord Dawn aired the same week as Fenn Rau first appearance in that comic. So we saw him support Jedi master Deppa Belaba, and her apprentice Caleb Dume around the communications tower durring the battle of Mygeeto. Just as Kanan described it in this episode.

What never ceases to amaze me about this series is the fact there are no filler episodes. Each installment either propels the story forward or deepens the characters. Here, Sabine and the Mandalorians are afforded a lot of lore, while Zeb is given massive growth in one the best and most visually breathtaking episodes of the series. More useless trivia: “Ashla” was an early name of the light side of The Force in George Lucas’ first drafts of Star Wars. It also appeared as a line ultimately cut for Yoda in the script for The Empire Strikes Back. Ashla had previously been used in Episode II as the name for one of the Younglings Yoda is seen teaching.

Just something cool I wanted to point out, Zebs bo rifle looks very similar to the staffs used by General Grievous:s guards in revenge of the sith. And those one of the few things that could fight equally against a lightsaber! So for Lasat culture a bo rifle likely has a similar spiritual and cultural importance as a lightsaber is to a Jedi! Also noice you picked up the bit about Zeb 'saving' kallus. I wonder what that coul mean 🤔

Sorry I'm late to the party, Ben! I totally missed the notification on this. Had a lot going on today (it's still prior to midnight where I live). I've been waiting for you to get to the back half of this season. I know what's coming, but I'm behaving myself. 3:20 - Pay VERY close attention to all of the dialogue in this episode. You might want to take notes, especially with any new characters introduced. I won't say why (and you know why).... but it's to help you later. 11:45 - Yeah...... I've been waiting for THAT reveal. 16:20 - We get the start of the deeper Mandalorian lore, in this episode. Clan Wren is basically her "family" name. The "House" is which grouping (for lack of a better term) of clans that her family is aligned with. Which is why I suggested you take notes. Mandalore, as you already know, has a very long history of in fighting. Crimson Dawn and Black Sun are both criminal syndicates, not Mandalorian houses. I understand the confusion, but since that's already been revealed, I'll go ahead and remind you of the difference. Deathwatch is a Mandalorian House, as are some others (not revealed yet). That's why there is always infighting between Mandalorians. Okay, another thing I'll go ahead and remind you of: Satine is Clan Kryze, along with her sister Bo Katan. I don't remember which "House" they were part of, but it was NOT Deathwatch. See? Even *I* have trouble keeping some of these things straight. lol
@TheTrytixКүн бұрын
So, basically, a Mandalorian "house" encompasses several clans. So, Sabine Wren here is part of clan Wren, who itself is a clan within house Viszla. Pre Viszla interestingly enough then would be part of clan Viszla, house Viszla. Clans are in essence families, so Sabine's family members would then most likely be part of the same clan she is, AKA, Clan Wren of House Viszla. Bo-Katan, Satine's sister, was herself part of house Kryze, clan Kryze. Meanwhile, two of the Mandalorian leaders under Darth Maul during both the rescue operation from Sidious' prison complex, the Spire, on Stygion Prime, as well as during the Siege of Mandalore, included Rook Kast and Gar Saxon. Weirdly enough there exist both a House Kast and a Clan Rook, however it's funny enough unknown if Rook Kast is part of either of these. However Gar Saxon is part of Clan Saxon, house Viszla himself though.

Fun fact about Rex talking about mandalorions training clone troopers in Star Wars legends there where around a hundred mandalorions hand picked by Jango Fett referred to as the Cuy’val Dar. They were brought in to over see the training of republic commodes.Some even trained squads of arc troopers, including Jango himself who trained the first several batches of arc troopers. We don’t much in cannon but Rex’s lines is a nice nod to the Legend novels. As for Sabine all I can say is be patient her story only gets better from here onward.

ep 13 gives us more on kanan history and of sabine's fmaily history. for kanan fenn rou was among the mandolorains who fought with the republic and durring one of the many battels of mygeeto which is where we ki adi mundi die on during order 66. fenn rou actually saved both him and his master during a battle on mygeeto. so for kanan this is about as personal as it was for him to try and get along with rex and their history with order 66. the difference being that kanan was trying to help because to him fenn was someone who saved not just his life but the closest thing to a mother he had. which I'm sure made it kind of awkward since basically his wife was shot down by him. probably one of the few people he can look back on and not have PTSD like he does with rex. Sabine is just letting her mandalorin instinct take over and is really only held back by kanan and hera's influence on her. of the things we get here is we learn she belonged to death watch. at least her family had loyalties to them. her clan worked with death watch durring the clone wars with bo-katan. while not seen sabine's mother is said to have been there when maul killed pre vizlia. we do see her with bo-katan when they go to recruit ashoka in season 7 of the clone wars. remember bo was a part of death wathc up until maul killed pre vizlia and then she split off. there are three main Houses . clans are small but when an certain amount of clans are united over certain beliefs or something similar you get a house. sabin's clan wren was under house kryze during the clone wars. so when they assume she was death watch they got it kind of wrong in that her mother Was not her. ep 14 gives star wars jack sparrow hondo again. at best at this time he is still looking out for himself but like in the clone wars ep with him and ashoka fighting grevous he does have a soft spot for children so ezra kind of working on that for help. but remember he is still looking after him self when and where he can but does try to help. so don't be surprised if he one moment is helping and another time throwing them to the empire. the Ashla was an old name give to the light side in legends and is sometimes referenced in canon. ashoka used it as her name while hiding from the empire in the tales of jedi series and the clone wars briefly. this ep is also i think one of a very few zeb centered eps that really go and show not his past but how it changed him. its also the maybe 2nd most important ep for him in the series.

Isn't it ironic that in season 1 we knew well nothing about Sabine and now she literally said 2 sentences and it gave a lot of depth to her character? "Clan Wren, House Vizsla" Let’s start with what this means. For Mandalorians, "Clan" means: Family. What do we know about Clan Wren? This is a very young clan. Sabine is in the 2nd or 3rd generation where Mandalorians openly consider themselves members of this clan. Next, we have the word "House," which means "origin" but is often also used in the context of a "family alliance." Clan Wren originates from the oldest and strongest Clan Vizsla. So, Sabine is a distant relative of Pre Vizsla. Another example of an old and strong clan is Bo-Katan and Satine: Clan: Kryze, House Kryze (Plus, you don't even know how popular the theory was that Bo-Katan is Sabine's mother. Well she is not, her House confirms it.) As for the Death Watch, Sabine was not part of it, as she even said herself. She was too young, being only 2 years old by the end of the Clone Wars. However, there’s another important piece of information: "My mother was." What I can say is that you saw Sabine’s mother in the Clone Wars, as she indeed was a part of Death Watch. And what happened to the Death Watch and Mandalore after Maul was captured? For now, I’ll just summarize what we know based on Season 7: Bo-Katan became the regent, de facto the leader, and gained full control over the planet. Maul didn’t have the Darksaber with him. Saxon, who was the Mandalorian commander, was arrested. Rook Kast, who was Maul's right hand, disappeared and was not captured. After capturing Maul, the Republic completely withdrew after the battle. Kanan mentions the battle of Mygeeto. This is the battle in which Mundi died during Order 66. It was the longest battle of the entire Clone Wars, a very brutal siege. This was because the planet was somewhat of a Separatist bank where many of them stored their wealth. What I can say from Kanan’s perspective is that this might have been the first time he saw Grievous, and his master saved him. As for the Lasat, I think the word "Ashla" first appears in the context of the Force. (Previously, Ahsoka changed her name to hide.) Lucas originally planned to call the Force Ashla, but since it would be too complicated, he abandoned the idea. And let’s be honest: "May the Force be with you" sounds much better than "May Ashla be with you." What I love about Filoni is how he uses unused earlier concepts and changes them so they can appear in a similar form. Ashla, or the Light Side, and Bogan, the Dark Side, became terms in certain cultures, often more spiritual ones. As for hyperspace routes, there’s an interesting story here: In the early days of the Republic’s expansion, there were popular groups of people who discovered new hyperspace routes. Such discoveries could make one very rich. A desperate sibling pair in need of money decided to do just that. They discovered the planet Moraband, better known as Korriban, along with its inhabitants. Well, it turned out they had discovered an entire planet of Sith and unknowingly led to the first war and all the subsequent wars and events. Regarding the galaxy map, it’s divided into several regions: Deep Core - considered the center on the map Core Worlds - Coruscant Inner Rim Territories - Onderon Expansion Region - Umbara Mid Rim Territories - Naboo Outer Rim Territories - Tatooine Unknown Regions - Ilum Wild Space - Lira San (the largest region) And now I’ll quote a conversation with Darth Vitiate, a Sith who achieved what the entire Rule of Two couldn’t: defeating death and attaining immortality: "If you kill everyone in the galaxy, you'll be Emperor of nothing. What's the point of all this?" - Hero of Tython "You discern a fraction of reality. Beyond these stars exist other galaxies, other worlds, other beings. I will experience or ignore them as I wish. I will spend eternity becoming everything: a farmer, an artist, a simple man. When the last living thing in the universe finally dies, I will enjoy peace and wait for the cycle to begin again." - Vitiate First, this guy believed he was the balance and that the Force served him. (If you react to Old Republic, he’s there, so I’ll focus more on him then.) Secondly, I used this quote because of "other galaxies" line. If the sequels had used material from legends, we would have the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, a brutal species from an entirely different galaxy. Another interesting fact is that in the Clone Wars, there was supposed to be an arc about the first scouts of this species and the first signs of preparation for invasion. But well, in one of the interviews Kathleen Kennedy said that SW has no source materials. So she doesn't even know that legends exist and that their stupidity has led to the decanonization of everything except the movies and CW? (Because that's what legends were, canon before Disney) Regarding Zeb, this episode was important for him. He lived with the belief that he was the last one, that there was no hope. In one of the first episodes, he attacks Kallus with the intent to avenge his people, as revenge was the only thing he had left. He was irritable and unfriendly to everyone, which was most obvious in his relationship with Ezra, who became a kind of scapegoat for his trauma. The fact that Zeb discovered there were others of his kind and that something he thought was fiction was real changed him. Zeb rebuilt meaning in his life. Additionally, this classically develops the philosophy of fear. Sabine showed that she was afraid, but for others. For Mandalorians, three words are most important: Honor, Loyalty, Family. These words described Sabine's entire motivation. She feared for Hera, and when she saw Hera was actually injured, her honor compelled her to return and confront "her fear." Sabine fought so this would never happen again to anyone she cared about. In Zeb's case, we need to ask a question. Why did he try? Why didn’t he give up and continued being the grumbling Zeb? This character was driven by a traumatic experience. Like Sabine, Zeb has a warrior’s nature, but he had to rebuild his hope. He needed to understand that he wasn’t a slave to his failure and that he could achieve victory. When others believed in him and when others helped him believe, then he won, but he believed because he wanted to -he wanted a change. When he understood this, he overcame his fear. And how can we be sure there will be anything there? He was the only one who fully believed in his success and wasn’t afraid. He just knew.

About Force Space Travel: The Lassat are actually not the only species to use the force for space travel. There is another very powerful species that can navigate through hyperspace without any knowledge of the lanes. This is because they have a force user directly controlling the hyperdrive by letting the force guide them to avoid dangers in their path, but I would consider this a minor spoiler at this point, which is why I am not telling you which species this might be. Have fun figuring this out :)

A brief overview of Mandalorian history: Death Watch were the ones who wanted to bring back the old warrior traditions, which they achieved by working with Maul. This is where Sabines Parents played a part. After Maul became the leader, the Death Watch separated, since many disagreed over if the rules allowed an outsider to become the leader. This is where Bo Katan (House Kryze (which is the last name, so it indicates which family a mandalorian belongs to)) founded her own subgroup: the Nite Owls and organized a resistance against the ones who remained loyal to Maul. After the Siege of Mandalore, Maul was defeated and Bo tried to restore the old order, but with the rising threat of the new Empire and the many families who just started getting acustomed to the old warrior ways again, there is a growing conflict over loyalties and to what degree the old rules should be implemented again.

Bowrifle abilities: I am not sure how much of the controll it had on the behavior of the ghost was the force and I am sceptical towards if a piece of non living equipment can "have the force". (of course, Lightsabers are a thing, but those have the crystals). How I interpret this is that the Bowrifle is a navigaional device that works like an alternative controll to the normal buttons and joysticks, by using this weird electricity thing to push buttons on the ghost (remember that the Ghost has a built in feature to "electrify" the hull, so maybe it just controlled the energy distribution to different parts of the ship) like an advenced auto pilot. Since the weilder has not really a good way to tell the rifle what to do (since there are no buttons), this is where the force ritual comes in to tell it where to go (like programming in coordinates using the force). This could be compared to the opening mechanism of some Jedi temples and such that require the force: The Mechanism itself has no connection to the force, but it is constructed in a way, so that one can only interact with it by using the force.

SO yeah on the subject of Hondo, he's pretty much the most chaotic neutral character in both shows. In the Clone Wars he was motivated strictly by profit. This sometimes allowed him to be on the same side of our heroes, other times he was fighting against them. Here, he is still motivated by profit first and foremost but he's a lot more open to working for the greater good. I think losing his crew and the Empire cracking down on piracy has caused him to feel more alone, which is why he gets along with Ezra. One way I like to describe Hondo in Rebels is that crazy uncle that can sometimes come in in a pinch, but you shouldn't rely on him all the time.

About the Star Wars galaxy geography: As you already know, the unknown regions are hard to travel to, because Anomalies like the one in this Episode separate them from the them from the known part of the galaxy. To get a better understanding of the layout, I would recommend you to search for images: "star wars galaxy map" in your browser of choice and you will find maps from official reference material that shows the divisions between the inner, mid and outer rim, the deep core, as well as major hyperspace lanes and some other stuff. I love looking at those maps because it gives me a feeling of where all these places we get to see acttually are in relation to one another, which shows why certain species might have certain connections others and where one can go, when the hyperdrive breaks down. When it comes to spoilers, of course, you might see planet names that you don't know yet, but since there are just names and locations, this doesn't really matter...
