This is amazing, I’ve been a fan of your playing style ever since I saw you on the Candyman tour with Steve Lukather in Gothenburg Sweden back in ‘94. And the other day when I saw your live stream I thought that it would be so cool if you gave some online lessons and tips!

I’m a drummer but Love playin’ piano and above all I’m a truly fan of you Dave since ages. Saw you playin in Milan back in the 90’s with Luke, John and Simon and blew away. All of your records are in my music collection and everytime I listen to any of your tunes I’m more and more convinced you are one of the best players around the world. Keep playin man!

Thank you, David, for uploading. I didn´t know there was footage available. Sponsoring the Meyer Sound sound system for this event was an absolute pleasure and an experience I will never forget. At that time, I served as CEO of Meyer’s European office, and it was an honor to see our equipment in action at such a significant event. The live mix was expertly handled by my good friend Lothar Strunk R.I.P. (production manager of Deep Purple, amongst other duties), whose skill and dedication elevated the audio experience to an exceptional level. As the evening progressed, Joe (Porcaro) approached us to express his gratitude. In a moment filled with genuine warmth and appreciation, he affectionately pinched my cheek as if I were a young boy and said, "Thank you, Thomas." This heartfelt gesture from Joe and his words of thanks made the experience even more unforgettable. That moment, brimming with emotion and recognition will always remain etched in my memory.

Thank you so much for your wonderful message!! That was such a fantastic weekend and I'll never forget as well. BTW I always LOVED using Meyer monitors (my favorite) while touring Europe with various acts. The best of these 2 nights has been released as Mike Porcaro "Brotherly Love" and the mix on this one was by Kai Fricke as he handled the recording part of the event for us.... Many of the other mixes on the live CD were by Steve Sykes. Thanks for all you did and I remember complimenting Lothar at the event. All the best to you DG

Hi David, just curious please. There are two different, studio quality versions of this track. Was there any reason for this?

I absolutely LOVE this version. That little staccato part at 2:35...the swish of the chimes at the beginning. It's just a beautiful piece. The horns...every bit of this makes me feel like I'm floating. A sensational feeling.

@@crazyferret9409 That's Vinnie 100% doing the solos! Body movement, switching between trad & matched grip and most of all, phrasing! And Jeff Porcaro didn't do drum solos. (doesn't take away how great a drummer he was.) JP is on the left. Vinnie on the right. They kinda look-alike though.hehe
