I enjoyed your video. However. I am pissed off. That thing is the exact same thing as my off brand insta pot. But mine does not have a hinged lid. The exact same size and same lid. Just not hinged. Now the GD USDA says you cannot use an insta pot type pressure cooker to can with. But what the hell is the difference between a pressure canner and an insta pot!?!? I have searched and searched and searched. From what I can see the only difference between the "Pressure canning" pots and a electronic pressure cooker is the PLASTIC and electronic controls.

if theres wind storm. this thing will fly away and land in honululu hawaii. or on someone house or someones head thats why i think its ideal if the feets are planted into the cemented ground and not just laying there waiting to fly away. especially in FL, hurracanes etc etc.

I set up my hummingbird water fountain today. It's solar and so cool. I've never seen a bird use it. I got it last summer. But I could watch it for hours. I have a lot of birds though.

Found 2 volunteer Crepe Myrtle by the Japanese Maple. Dug up and will transplant some where Maybe pot them until they get bigger. Had 2 Mexican Heather that survived a previous transplant from when we installed the new carport. Added the plants from the hanging basket in the tiny garden. And rescued one from the driveway area. ( that area was planted before we added the carport ) Raked up the leaf 🍂 debris and pulled weeds. I have some retaining wall blocks that I will add for a small wall in front of the Mexican Heather. The leaves 🍂 and weeds will be given to the chickens. They love digging into them and it will all turn into compost. May 1, 2024 Happy May Day

The Nesco I got this year, its manual says 8 cups of warm water, do you know why they change from 4 cups to 8 cups?

Thank you for showing that the regular mouth jars fit as well. That’s what I came here to see. I wonder why it only recommends widemouth jars? The jar placement in relation to the valve never occurred to me. Where did you learn this or did you just figure it out yourself? I have a batch of widemouth jars in my canner right now and I didn’t check the valve placement. But I never have so I’m sure that will be fine. However, I did notice that the regular quart jars I have are slightly taller, so the valve placement is probably more important with regular mouth jars.

Why is one can always empty? I want to try this but pressure cookers seem daunting to use.

The measurements on the canner inside pot are for cooking food when pressure cooking meats or steaming vegetables or rice. For pressure canning its always 8 cups water using a measuring vessel.

I think to China, cup means Insert. Even so if these line were metric, the numbers are still wrong. Not just Nesco others like my Emeril Lagasse Canner has lines that do not make sense. My instructions say 1/4th the way up a jar.

First of all, great video. I followed the instructions and thought I had the correct results. Everything sealed, there was no siphoning. However, a friend told me that I should have used the green valve (for high elevation) but I'm in Pennsylvania (not high elevation). Now, I'm wondering if my jars are safe.

Bird-x netting is several years old. Has holes and sagging severely due To the weight of branches and leaves And the occasional fat raccoon. I’m installing vinyl coated steel cables. Crisscrossing them through the high center post. This is just the first one. And it’s already a huge improvement.

Just wondering what you thought about the taste of the potatoes after canning? I canned potatoes but didn't like the taste. I have not tried dry canning them. Thank you.
