European when they speak another language: yes we are smart Europeans when Non- Europeans speak another language: this guy is stupid
@konstantinosvlachantonis24712 күн бұрын
It's not only because of the education system though that Europeans love language learning. Sometimes language lessons at school, especially for the optional third language, are very basic level. I ginyit has a lot to fo with European culture and this global citizen identity around it that many Europeans start language learning as a hobby. Many of them also love travelling around with the no-border policy and the powerful VISAs around the rest of the world, which encourages this identity even further. I've met polylinguals from around Europe and I can hardly think of anyone attributing it ever to their education system.

In Israel we learn mostly English/ French and Arabic in school, at home we speak the language of our diaspora (the place of origin). Ex-Soviet Jews speak predominantly Russian, some speak Ukrainian, some Georgian, Bukharian, Azerbaijani, Armenian etc. Ethiopian Jews speak Amharic and Tigrinya, French Jews-French etc...

Ya in America we have different laws for each state so when I lived in California, American Sign Language and Music was mandatory, but when I came to Texas those classes were not mandatory but physical education, foreign language, and public speaking were mandatory. O and if you refuse you have to at least take it by senior year (your 12th year of school) or you can be refused by the school bord to graduate or not get your general education degree, if they do allow you to graduate that year you'll attend summer school which is shuving a semester or even a school years work into two-three months long and mandatory.

Let’s be honest. I don’t think it’s second or third ‘foreign’ language. It’s just English because it’s a global standard language. Americans don’t need to learn other languages.

My school in America had a second language as requirement. Most people only took a semester of it and could care less

Bruh you guys really deleted my comment because I said all three of them were toxic asf towards the american woman? Ya'll delusional I am from Germany and no one that is still sane in his/ her mind would take a tran from Berlin to Barcelona because that is literally the same distance from Nashville to Miami implying his question of "how she would visit relatives two states away from her". From where I live I can cross 3 countries in a 6 hour drive by car while in america I'd still not even reach Orlando starting in Miami lol. Suprised they ddn't joke about flying from Atlanta Georgia to Miami Florida. It's like laughing at someone who takes a flight from Munich to Rome... wtf. Imagine roasting someone because legal drinking age is 21 and not 16. They could have atleast roasted her for Trump voters and weapon policies but heck, even thats not her to blame lol.

As an American I agree with the car point. I got in a car accident recently and my car was in the shop for almost a full month and I was just kind of screwed because I’m 19 so I can’t legally rent a car. I had to move in with my dad for the month so I could borrow his car for work and school or so he could drive me

They are all passive toxic. I thought the dude was kind of okay but I think the two girls infected him and he went a long. First time I feel sorry for an american because most "pro" arguments like public transport etc. are just bs. We havee a nice public transport network in europe, but no normal person drives further than 10 hours (one way) if not doing a road trip for vacation. The dude literally asked how she would get from one state to the other knowing they can't take public transport. 2 States in america come on... what a joke question. Obviously she will fly. I personally would also fly from Nashville to Miami LOL and I also would fly from Barcelona to Berlin because that is about the same distance. In his example he'd take for both routes a train. Delusional.
