Later around at night around 9PM (3/1/24) When I was waiting for NECR 323 (with 4063 leading) to show at Claremont Jct, believe it or not but they actually did have another emergency stop I think somewhere near Grissom Lane (Railroad Crossing south below Claremont Jct). I wasn't sure exactly what happened since I didn't have a scanner at the time. Might've been mechanical failure. Took about 20 minutes for the train to get going and pass my area.
@Steelrailbearing3 сағат бұрын
Really? That is interesting, they had problems that day. I didn't want to miss this, and I was waiting patiently for most of the morning. It was such a relief to hear them coming, but whenever they went into emergency I thought It was all over. It was the same with me, it took them about 20 minutes (or less) to get moving again.
@newenglandproductions30713 сағат бұрын
@Steelrailbearing Yeah I had that feeling too. I thought I was gonna get screwed over, because you never know how long it'll take them to start moving again. But isn't till they did finally managed to show up.

Nice! I caught this exact train on 324 at Claremont Jct at this exact date when it was dark out early in the morning.
@Steelrailbearing5 сағат бұрын
Thats awesome, I'll have to check that video out. I give you full credit for your dedication! I was checking your videos last week and I'm impressed. To catch those trains, (at that time in the morning), requires a lot of work! Thats a good spot, (Claremont Jct) a good mix of rail activity even if it is in the dark.👍
@newenglandproductions30715 күн бұрын
I swear, NECR 3015 and 3040 definitely has the most loudest GW E-Bells compared to any of the other units. You could even hear it like a mile away if you live in a quiet town.
@Steelrailbearing4 күн бұрын
Interesting you bring that up.. I've never caught the 3015 leading, so when I was editing this video I noticed that I could clearly hear the bell way back at the first crossing. 0:17 I've recorded a lot of videos at this spot, but I don't remember a bell that loud. That thing really clangs.

Why do the early 70s 350s sound different than the 80s 350s?
@Steelrailbearing10 күн бұрын
Probably because of emission standards. The old small blocks had more compression, different cylinder heads and different carburetors. The early 80's small blocks were de-tuned for economy and less smog..

Man that is one sweet plow truck. Brings back memories of winter plowing with my dad. His was a 78 K20 and he used to plow school parking lots for the district. That truck in use up until it was retired in 2018.

I had both a 69 and 70 GMC pick ups. My brother stole one from me and an x brother in law conned me out of the other. Then people wonder why I hate relatives! Both were 1/2 ton with 350 and most options, only problem I had was real poor mileage, after I didn't have them any more, I learned the issue was shot torque converts. GM was notorious for that at the time, they cheaply used the same unit in the passenger cars and expected them to hold up in a truck.

Don’t you have adjustable skid plates on that blade? It would help to keep it from throwing gravel in the grass. Your mower blades are gonna take a beating in the spring.
