A bit wrong on the save file corruption, if you encounter another glitchmon in the same vein of MissingNo it is likely to do that tho. Would encourage looking up let's glitch pokémon blue/Yellow on that front to learn more. MissingNo and other glitchmon could only cause damage to your hall of fame, and/or graphics. If you catch MissingNo before you get to the hall of fame, nothing will happen to it. To fix any graphical glitches just check a Pokémon's summary other than the glitchmon and go back to the battle.
