The concept of Foundational Black American (FBA) is quaint. It reminds me of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). It reminds me of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) (gasp!!!). For most part the slaves were deracinated from their African cultural origins. Except for the Gullahs of Georgia and the Carolinas. The FBA cultural legacy is derived from White Redneck (WR) culture. The FBA and the White Redneck are half-siblings from the same Daddy. The FBA originated as a Black Redneck (BR). Slaves imported to the Americas were selected for their brawn, not brain, not moral character, not farming skills. Meanwhile the Scot/Irish immigrants self-select to those with enough intelligence, resilience, perseverance to survive and succeed in Early America (there were no Welfare State). Early on, there was a large IQ gap between the FBA and the White Redneck (WR) (the FBA IQ was lower than the WR IQ) . With time, as FBA adopted and adapted to the way of the WR, the IQ gap narrowed. Meanwhile the IQ of the Northerner remains higher than that of the Southerner. As time goes by, the FBA culture and the WR culture diverge. The FBA character became distinct from that of the WR. Nonetheless, the FBA was closer to the WR than to any African culture. The only characteristic in common with the FBA and the African is the skin melanin. Before year 2000, the legal African immigrant was self-selected and selected by the Immigration Services for initiative, skills, and moral character, not so much for muscles. The average income of the legal African immigrant is greater than the average income of the FBA. The average criminality of the legal African immigrant is less than tht of the FBA. Native born Black American versus Native born African. There is economic disparity between these 2 groups: the average yearly income (2010 AD) of Nigerian American : $61,000 Ghanaian American : $57,000 Jamaican American : $50,000 Haitian American : $42,000 (Haiti is the poorest country of the americas and yet the average immigrant to the US out perform the african-american). The average income of the African American : $39,000. Meanwhile, in the STEM subjects, at the graduate level (M.S., Ph.D.) there are 14 Africans to 1 Black American; for every 1 Black American from the Northern States there are 3 Black Americans from the Southern States. Keep in mind that the ancestors of FBA's were selected for brawn, not brains. FBA's are quite prominent in sports (brawn) while the legal African immigrants are prominent in STEM professions (brains). It is not a racial issue. Look at Barbados (in the caribbean). During colonial times, black students outperform white students. After Independence, black students still outperform white students. It is a pity that the African-American group (in contrast with recent African immigrants and Caribbean immigrants) took the wrong turn in the early 1920's when African American intellectuals overall went from the thinking of Booker T Washington (first director of the Tuskegee Institute) to that of W.E. Dubois (co-founder of NAACP). Booker T Washington called for black progress through education and entrepreneurship ("I is rich" is better than "I am poor"). W.E. Dubois called for aggressive pursuit of political power, denigration of capitalism, promotion of socialism, continual racial conflict. Pursuing political power over economic power is akin to spitting into the wind; such distortion of priorities results in either authoritarianism at best or totalitarianism at worst. Once you achieved economic power, you do not need political power: you can buy political power. He was exposed before the 2016 presidential election bragging on audio about using his celebrity status to sexually assault women; one of the lowest things a man can do to a woman he is not related to. He is awaiting trial for having and mishandling top secret classified information that he was not authorized to have, and attempting to overturn the election results in the states of Georgia and Arizona; the lowest thing a high government official can do to protect the security of a government and prevent the peaceful transfer of power in a democracy. He is also awaiting accountability for his actions to incite a riot to also prevent the certification of an election, which was another element needed to ensure a peaceful transition of power in our American democracy. His only purpose in life now is trying to find anyway possible, or use anyone available, to avoid accountability for all his treasonous actions which violated his oath to this country taken on his Inauguration Day, and try to continue to entertain all the people he scams into buying anything with his name on it to earn money to line his pockets, and pay his enormous legal fees. We wouldn’t tolerate this type of illegal and immoral behavior from anyone else running for the top office in this country, and we shouldn’t be tolerating this type of illegal and immoral behavior from him. The Republicans don’t require that he be a better human being because they know that he can’t be a better human being, so they sit around licking his boots hoping that he soon goes away permanently.

Question: what does FBA stand for? My great (x4) grandfather was a slave who had to fight in the civil war on the confederate side. At the end, he got paid, bought his freedom and some property, and built himself a house. In the end, he died a poor man due to an accident that left him paralyzed on his farm. All the white farmers got government subsidies. The black farmers did not and everyday was a struggle. When they could no longer work, they often went broke or lost their land. After that my family was poor for many generations. I have always been anti reparations. Until I saw what this government seems to have available to financially support illegal uninvited immigrants with cash cards and hotel lodging and 3 meals a day for months and years on end! Seems like everyone got a piece of the pie except our lineage. This is the first time I’ve ever said “yes, the government is so eager to support the entire world and all its wars, immigrants we didn’t invite….they got all this extra, let them go ahead and finally pay reparations for a national atrocity.” That’s my take now.
