Great video! Did Roberts tractor have a name, like most did? I didn't see anything written on his tractor.

I saw 2 videos on youtube with Deere Power and this guy named Bill where pulling, 1 of the pulls was from 1976. The youtube channel was Pulling Reference Rewind and the video title was 1976 NTPA Tractor Pulling. The other utube channel was Backwoods Customz 15 and video title was A blast from past tractor pulling. I thought you might be interested, thanks for the videos and stay safe.

Thanks for taking us on your pump adventure, and getting some more stories of the good o'l days. I helped a guy for a season that ran a 2700 series 6 cyl ford motor in a Fordson Major, it pulled in under 401 unlimited pro stock. It had no governor and was exactly like Bob said with the throttle, I drove it in the yard a few times. I remember in the pits one day a guy coming and asking questions. He was a technically minded guy and asked about the rev limit with no governor on the pump. I just looked him straight in the face and said "that would be the point just before several major components exit the block", he kinda smiled and walked away shaking his head ! In all honesty we didn't know, but inspected steel flywheels/clutches and scatter blankets aren't just to look cool and spend money like some think when you play that game. Take care

Awesome interview, thanks for posting. That tractor was bought new by my Grandfather and Great-Uncle. They ordered it with the narrow front. I have a video of it plowing. A neighbor convinced them to pull it. It won. Then one thing led to another and soon it was sporting 2 turbos. I had heard they sold it to Mr Riggs. He didn't say where it went after he sold it did he?

Awesome Interview, Bill. I don’t know if I would try connecting directly to the rack. Seems like it would be a hard one to control. I wish more people would sit down and interview the older pullers in the sport, before it’s lost to history. Thanks again, Bill.

I want to build a little 1/4 scale 6cyl john deere engine. Do you know of any real small injector tips that I could use. I think I could make the injector itself but making the nozzle with those little holes would be a little more difficult. I know your buys work on those small diesels but not sure how big the injectors are. My son has a little 1cyl diesel he put on a john deere 110 but the injector is still pretty big in it. If we get the engine to run, my son has another 110 tractor to put it in.
@so.md.dirtfarmer22267 сағат бұрын
That sounds like a cool project! I want to see it when you're done. Unfortunately, the compact diesels use injectors that are not really all that small.

I don't understand why JD would not helped even a little. I remember also as a kid hearing the noise of pulling tractors at Twin Creek Tractor pulling near Shetland, Ontario Canada. It was mostly IH as well. We were not allowed to go as it was mainly on Sundays and included beverages. We were not allowed to hang out with the heathens. :) Even in NASCAR I wish JD would sponsor a car. They just don't.

And this one I had was infected and it was throbbing really bad so they made a special appointment to pull it. I went in and he pulled on that thing for 15 minutes first on one side. Then on the other side he said I have never pulled a tooth. That was that hard. It chipped my jaw bone when he pulling it out and they had to cut quite a bit of my gum away to get it. I think that's why it's a sore

I caught a cut gate square in the mouth almost 20 years ago. When the Oral Surgeon asked how I rated the pain, 1-10, I said it about an 8. He didn't believe me until I told him my 10 was being slammed by a 2000# bull! He patched the 3/8" hole in my lip and wired up my teeth from the 45° angle they were on back to 90° . While I was"out " he yanked a wisdom tooth as well. The latter was NOT an immediate problem, the first were!😂
