What is the absorption/filling layer mad from? It looks like springs that slow down the gas flow and increase likelihood of gas and water contact.

What will happen if we off the water flow into scrubber? Is that the motor pump will get heat? If heat what are the action need to do?

You forgot the part where they spit out all the sulfur into the ocean. Lets see how long these last as open loop.

I think it is only a matter of time before open loop (and maybe hybrid) systems are banned

@@Jodocus1000 That may well be but not because of the sulphur dioxide as this is turned into sulphate in the scrubber and is found in vast amount in the ocean.

@@Jodocus1000Its officially insult to injury now. The scrubbers are now affixed to laid up vessels, not making money but still making scrubber payments. Should have just ponied up for the better fuel and responsible choice.
