Love the Extendo Stick! You can waist a lot of time trying to get a throw bag in the right crotch on a windy day especially in tight messy branching.

Great video. But for that tree behind the tree, would you have finished your cut by going all the way out the back like that? Or would you recommend coming in to cut the trigger from the backside wherever possible?

If you were gonna rig a nearly level limb off itself would you tie everything just like vertical spar rigging?

Barber chair. I sit in a barber chair frequently. Never the less I fail to understand what movement of the tree it will take that is dangerous.

Barber chair is when the tree trunk splits vertically up the tree. Look up barber chairing and it will show you.

Well done. This is a time tested technique. The legendary Finnish chopper Sven Sorensen taught this same technique widely in the 1980's.

Barber chair: "A tree that barber chairs is a tree that splits lengthwise while you are doing the back cut. A piece of the tree will stay attached while the cut will fall and spring back the other way. That is how loggers get seriously hurt."

The plunge works. I have also done a "spiral cut". Face it up on the leaning side and a shallow face lower on the side. When you back cut it twists instead of barber chair. Just have to make sure you are behind the saw.

The massive stump shot seems to indicate the notch wasn’t open enough and the hinge was too thick. Between the fiber pull and leaving a foot of lumber on the stump I am not impressed.

You almost got a clean edit @2:36 but placing your body in the most dangerous place to have a look at the other side of the hinge was careless.
