Will 6 months of training 3 times a week give me enough skills to defend myself against average man, im 6 foot 180 lbs, and i also boxed for 6 months

First of all thanks for the comment. 6 months of training in a truly effective martial art like Jiu-Jitsu will give you the absolute basics in self-defence. You will be miles ahead of your attacker if they are untrained and especially if they are intoxicated. You may find 6 months to understand even the basics difficult as jiu-jitsu is so complex. If you can try to stetch it to 8 month-1 year and 4 times weekly if possible. It should also be said that the boxing experience will 100% benefit you in a self-defence situation as well as occasionally getting on the treadmill as the best for of self-defence is running (and before that how you talk to people). Common sense works best as usual. My advice is try it for a week or so at no cost. Every jiu-jitsu gym offers a free trial be it a day or up to 2 weeks. My prediction is you will fall in love with the art like most people and after 6 months you wont want to leave. Hope that helps. Benjamin

@@benjaminwithey Thanks Benjamin, I'm currently weight lifting ( been doing that for 1 year ), i tried wrestling for one month and got destroyed by 17 year old kid while doing wrestling sparring 😂, i will definitely try BJJ

Thank you, I'm a beginner and I got my training partner in a full rnc but didn't know how to finish even though it is the most well known sub in the world. I was just trying to squeeze in with my biceps and idk but i somehow made it more loose. Now I know how to actually choke you get the elbow aligned with the chin and walk your hands up your shoulder thanks! 😃 also don't age restrict your videos just leave it on the default setting in the uploader. with it age restricted it doesn't get promoted to the explore page, i found this video from my subscription page. 💪
