Hi Erik, I'm not certain whether I've asked you this already elsewhere, but what effects do you use to get that Nils tone? I'm only a beginner and I've bought a Spark practice amp with a load of built in effects - really wanted to start with a nice nils tone, preferably even a vintage Valentine / Delivery night live kind of sound. Not that I'll be able to play anything like that, but getting that sound for the nils guitar lesson vids would be great. Hope you can help

@@Squeaksquatch Hi! I am using a Barber Burn Unit EQ for overdrive. Nils uses the same unit. I am also using a BOSS Super Chorus. I use it after the overdrive, Nils however uses it before the overdrive. It works for him, but I couldn’t get it to sound good in his order, so I switches the pedal order. My delay and reverb are plug-ins from Logic. But on stage I use a BOSS DD200 and a BOSS RV6.

@@uldericoferrazzoli9499Thank you! I use a Strat with Bill Lawrence pickups, a Stratoblaster by Alembic, and a Burn Unit by Barber. Delays and reverb are from Logic.

Very nice, just perfect. I see have a virtual clone of Lofgren's guitar, what else is in your signal chain? Our little group was working on this yesterday and we came up with a number of alternative pedal chains.

Thank you! My signal chain is as follows: Alembic Stratoblaster - Barber Burn Unit - Boss Super Chorus - Strymon Iridium. I used Logic’s stereo delay and put a pitchshifter on the delay, -9 and +9 cents, something like that. I also used a reverb from Logic.

Thank you! Actually can hear it cleaner here than the live version! Incredible, original and personal solo (in a excellent song). I couldnt understand some sounds during the solo, and still being misterious for me although I can see you playing it 😆 What do you do with the index finger (not refering the tapping)? It makes that harmonic sound? Dont know if you touch the last fret or the pickup or what. ...I think I also need to get the Nils lessons. Thank you both!

Thank you! 😁 The index finger thing is actually pretty easy to understand. Nils uses it to play the harmonic 12 frets up from the note he’s playing. For instance, If you have a note on the first string, third position I will use my index finger on my right hand in the 15th position to create the harmonic. My thumb pick will hit the string while my index finger creates the harmonic. Hope this makes sense. 😅

@@erikdentuinder1537 Bruce seems not to care to much these days! Your version with the extended instrumentals is in my opinion better than any of Springsteens versions. This is the find of the week for me, i thank you sincerely for this great music!!
