This is a dance Magunatip (Bamboo Dance) by the Murut in Sabah, Malaysia. This dance is a legacy passed down for generations from their ancestors. This dance tells the story of a knight went hunting human head. after the hero gets a human head, they will celebrate the heroes of this dance. even if it is the same with the dance in another country, but different story. nor is it just coincidence.

why would we get our bamboo dances from malaysia or indonesia? bamboo dances are a staple of austronesians & the austronesians spread from taiwan to the philippines to other countries. we didn't come from them, they more likely came from us

From what I have seen so far, it seems that bamboo dances are prevalent throughout Southeast Asia and even eastern India. Borneans/Sabahans has this one, Filipinos has a few like the Tinikling and Singkil, Thais, Khmers, Vietnamese and Indians like Mizo and Assamese.

well, it may not originated from the Philippines, but by the looks of this performance in particular, it's costume, it's like they're from Ifugao (an ethnic tribe in the Philippines) And yeah, one commenter is right.. U wanna give credit? Why not give it to Adam and Eve? PROUD TO BE A HUMAN (that'll be more safe LoL)

Now Shut up and watch.. Be proud if your an asian! It doesnt matter where it is originated .. Let the researchers handle it :)) (but it is more likely to be originated in the phillipines .. i have read already books of dances).

i think, every malay nation (philippines, malaysia, indonesia) has the claim to this dance. this dance is practiced even before these 3 countries were formed.. let's just be proud and appreciate that our countries' different ethnic groups were able to preserve it.

@ctg21361 why would we get tinikling from malaysians & indonesians when they came from us? also southern china, taiwanese aboriginals, vietnamese & some northern indians also have bamboo dances. but bamboo dance is more widespread in the philippines & seems to have originated from there.
