You wouldn’t have to tumble first if you were using actual brass cleaner, I have found that 100 pretty dirty 223 cases need atleast 4 of the 30 minute hot cycles to get completely spotless

And I have found that a good soak in the solution even without the sonic cleaner already starts to break down everything so that when you do cut it on it works quickly

I dont understand, why people do the things they do. SIMPLE GREEN is not a brass cleaning and does not work . If you can't afford or get the cleaning solution, maybe you need to go back to dry tumbling. 2+2=4. Simple green + cleaner machine= dirty brass.
