Underwater is so beautiful…shame I’m so petrified of it ….and don’t have the cash to really do it lol 😂 or the ability to be aware enough of my surroundings …but at least I can “sea” it from here or a boat ._.

Thanks for posting this mate. This video really shows heaps of what you could possibly see! How long does it take to paddle out? And from where do you enter? I can't find any info online... thanks mate!
@blackbearddiving31522 жыл бұрын
We enter at the boat ramp at bargara just be mindful that it is a boat ramp so try and get clear of it as soon as you can, then you swim south to south east direction until you hit the reef. The reef extends out probably a couple of hundred meters and it gets better the further out you go. The current can rip over the reef so it’s best to dive at slack tide

@@blackbearddiving3152 excellent mate? How many metres you reckon from the boat ramp to the start of the reef? Thanks so much!
@blackbearddiving31522 жыл бұрын
@@kylebecker6312 it’s probably 50+m from the boat ramp

Hey mate. Going to Masthead in about a months time. Unfortunately we couldn't get through the logistics of transporting a boat from where I live to gladstone. Our trailer is too shoddy. We're planning to swim out to the good reef or paddle out on a little boat we have. This means we're limited to spearfishing around masthead. My question is, how stocked are the waters around there? For good eating fish I mean. And how was the crayfish population? Thanks mate
@blackbearddiving31523 жыл бұрын
I found around the camp area was pretty hammered but did see some good fish, Didn't see any crays but wasn't really putting the effort into finding them either. Its still a good area but I think youll be pretty limited if you cant get away from the camp area of the island.

I'm hoping you get a notification on your phone and somehow see this message. We are going to masthead island this weekend and we were wondering how high the tide has to be to get your boat to shore? Does it have to be a full tide?
