The aerodrome seemed to be littered with 3’s and 6’s….amazing. Loading tons of ammonium nitrate for local “product” manufacture…??

Such an iconic form of transport, 3 things come to my mind from early childhood crossings in the late 70's 1) i could swear at some point we crossed a sand bank and sand would spray up over the windows!? 2) We once stopped mid crossing due to a concern around basking sharks in the area 3) We were able to see a mast sticking out from the water during crossings and would look out for it! forgive me if these seem like utter nonsense! a childs mind is a complex thing and these may well of been fabricated.... Love watching these crafts though... Fond memories
@thorstenknobbe788816 күн бұрын
No, no utter nonsense, I have the book "On a Cushion of Air: The Story of Hoverlloyd and the Cross-Channel Hovercraft" in my library and according to the captains' reports, Hoverlloyd (Ramsgate-Calais) flew over the Goodwin Sands and on some days one could see the wrecks of ships.

Lange her die Aufnahmen.
