Amazing song, right up there with any of the Clash songs!

Joe was a very under-rated rhythm guitarist. I should know!

I saw The Clash when I was 16 on their London Calling tour in Philadelphia. That show completely changed my head. Since that night, Joe has been a steadfast hero. A man of real principle. A poet of the highest order. One of a kind.

Saw The Clash in 1983 and Joe got me thru college. Wish I had seen Joe & The Mescaleros. Miss you terribly! Happy Birthday 🖤

Recently I read an article where Joe's daughters said their dad loved creating and being in his community, and was always just "making things happen." That inspires me tremendously. The future is unwritten....

Couldn't sing unless he shouted. This is deplorable.

I had to take a deep breath before watching this. Knowing Joe would be gone a year after this. Thank you, Johnny Appleseed, for sowing beautiful seeds.

This was almost exactly 2 weeks before I saw them in Scottsdale AZ and had the unbelievable, unforgettable experience of hanging out with Joe all night until the wee hours of the morning. Along with the birth of my son and my wedding day, it was easily one of the top 3 greatest moments of my entire life. It’s all too easy to be severely disappointed when you finally get to meet one of your lifelong heroes, but in Joe’s case it was the opposite experience. He exceeded my expectations tenfold. People like him are so rare, and we as a species were damn lucky to have him in our plane of existence. He was a real gift to humanity, and his words and music will live on as long as we exist. You often hear people say that we need him here with us today, and though I couldn’t agree more with the sentiment, the fact of the matter is that he *IS* still with us, just as long as we never forget his lessons. If you’ve never seen it, I can’t recommend the Joe Strummer documentary “The Future is Unwritten” enough.
