Note to narrator - Australians mostly say “arfter” not “affter”.

I'm an hour in and, if you don't count the shepherd conversations at the beginning, there's a very small amount of conversation by the characters, feels like 98% narration in a retrospective style. Perfectly fine for world building or giving details, but it takes a bit away from the driving of the story, loss of that sense of urgency. Getting a bit distracted by other things, so I think I should pause and come back when I can focus more on the plot.

Good story, Craig A. Falconer. 'No deal' - this was a steal of a deal. Thanks 😊

I can't believe it took me such a long time to give this a try. It's been in my listen folder for almost a year and I've loved your other work. I guess, from the title & illustration I was imagining The Martian, but with alien body snatchers... so weird. This was really wonderful though. I love the way we fall into the exciting world of big business tech. Juicy and delicious. And, thank you!

No wonder I was so lost, this is book 7 but the title says book 1 of a trilogy. Really threw me off

I love the way you write about business. It's always been my favorite sci-fi angle. And you are easily among the best at it.

Is this the first book in a series? A lot of info first minutes. So just asking. Thank you
@andriachappell68163 ай бұрын
I feel the same way. The info dump made me feel like this wasnt the first book in the series. I actually stop and looked at the description again thinking I may have started at Book Two or something. Plus, the author keeps repeating some of the same points, like ALOT.

Evidentially, Mr. Falconer can set up a straw man argument and knock it down with the best of them. Firstly, environmentalists, conservationists, climatologists and general activists the world over are in it for the benefit of humanity first and foremost and nobody has ever claimed otherwise. There are very few Animist's left in the world and for good reason. If the author had done any extensive research on the subject, or bothered to talk to anyone involved, he wouldn't find many serious people who seek to minimize or devalue the human races roll as caretaker. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Once again, the word "equal" in terms of animal rights does not mean better than or less than, but the same as, with the important caveat that human beings are the only one of these animals with the capability to create and to destroy on a global scale. Therefore, the needs of the species takes inherent presidence, not to mention that the very idea that individuals or groups would not fight back against predation is laughably absurd. After all, that's one of the central reasons for civilization in the first place.

You, Sir, are a genius. Your writing ability, both the scope of imagination and the technical skill to produce such first-class storytelling, is a rare thing indeed.

Thanks for checking it out! This Evolution Trilogy is actually the third and final trilogy in the full Not Alone series. It starts with the first book titled simply “Not Alone“ and continues from there. I only own the production copyright and distribution rights for these later books, which is why I’ve been able to upload these freely on KZbin, and why I can’t distribute the others. They’re all narrated by James Patrick Cronin and they’re all available on Audible. Thanks again!

Mr. Falconer, thank you for this! My brother and I are sci-fi fanatics, and I'm an author myself. Since my brother is blind, he will certainly appreciate hearing this. Very much appreciated! I love the premise, and I'll update you all more after hearing it.
