I just use distilled water and a cotton t-shirt. 9:19 I slightly dampen a t-shirt and wipe until it "feels" smooth.

Bernard Wright was not in CHIC you were thinking of Bernard Edwards. Bernard Wright was Roberta Flack's Godson.

You're crazy to use any alcohol and Simple Green is Ludacris. I have been collecting for 5 decades.. Laser Media is the best for cleaning vinyl. You might use Windex same story crazy.

Just found your video tonight while searching for this very issue! I purchased an already filled syringe on eBay. Not only have you shown how to fill the tone arm fluid but you also showed us which silicone to use. Now I can fill my own syringe! Thank you Tavis! By the way…I am now a new subscriber. Thank you so much for your help. ❤️Deb

Travis, I've just done like u did, and the tonearm is falling at the same speed as your first video. How long will it take to become smoother? Should i use the turntable in the meantime, or should i leave it to rest?

I've never used Simple Green to clean records. But, I use it in my day job servicing vintage audio gear to clean faceplates and knobs. I take the knobs off and let them soak in a glass bowl full of Simple green while I service the unit. Then, before putting the knobs back on, I use a microfiber cloth and Simple Green to clean the faceplate. When the knobs come out of the bowl, all they need is to be dried off and they are spotless. Put them back on and the unit looks much better.

Tavis, I have Sinatra's entire discography digitized on my computer, from his RCA days, all the way through Columbia, Capitol, and ending with Reprise. I also have the vinyl, but I don't get access to the turntable too much with 2 kids. Lol. I make it a point to listen to Frank every day. There is, and has never been, anyone better.

2 albums in my Mom's collection I first played when I was 4 years old were Tom Jones Live In Las Vegas and I (Who Have Nothing). Those albums changed my life because it was my first introduction to music and playing records.
