Thanks Simon, yeah it’s definitely premium. I have their downpour plus jacket which has these pit zips which are good. All quite expensive though

Thanks for the feedback, this was done a few years ago. It’s a great 3 season tent but no more than that, I’ve sold it since. They have an upgraded version now.

Altra Olympus 5 GTX mid? I m trying one on and there is Smth digs into my ankle and it s still there after few km walking in them ..sending back..I had high hopes for this shoes..

Hello, yes I have used them in the rain. My advice would be to get some waterproof socks as a last line of defence.

@@sebastown I use torins for road running. Yes a lot different much more cushioning first of all and also seem to be a wider fit the lone peaks. The only issue with Altras is they wear out quite quickly on the lugs as well as the material. I always goes half a size up which has worked out well.

I’ve never used them in snow as don’t see a lot of it here in the UK, probably not as they are quite a thin material.

I’d recommend the upgraded versions of these that have recently been released. I wouldn’t say they are 100% waterproof but pretty much especially if you get a pair of sealskinz waterproof socks. The Olympus 5 from Altra hiking boots have a goretex membrane and so are waterproof. Check out northern runner in the UK who sell them and who I buy them from. Altra are a wide fit with a wide toebox area.

@@DJVOutdoors can you give me any suggestion about pour waterproof barefoot hiking boot? i have pretty wide feet, and plan to hike Nepal next December January....winter time it was pretty cold in Himalaya. Last two winter when i travel there i RENT winter boots from there, but Normal hiking boot is extremely heavy and Narrow toe box and extremely high cousion. i hike with one of the boot with 18 days, those are heavy. can you suggest me any lightweight barefoot waterproof boots?

@@DJVOutdoors goretex isn't waterproof in the long run after 3000+km trip, it gets wet FAST. It's just water resistant.

Thanks mate, you might of seen my post I left offas dyke, I find long walks solo hard sometimes but I’ve decided to go back on September 1st where I left off! I decided to then go and do this, watched yours and a few others videos! I didn’t beat your time no! I did just under 10 hours! Thanks for the comment!

I’ve got a second pair. The fronts wore off but I got sent another pair. They are very good, Altra have a new updated version out now

@@DJVOutdoors yeah I was tempted with the newer version, do you think they are more durable? My first pair of Altra's so seemed a good deal to try. I did get on with them. I've used only barefoot footwear for the last 10 years but struggle on long distance hikes with a heavy pack in barefoot.

Yes they did seem more durable and the Altra person said they improved the sole again. I’ll probably get them next year.

Yeah there was a few, it was quite a small event TBH. Vango had the biggest stand I think and they are quite a big brand.

Yeah it’s been really useful, mostly just used it for cameras and drone but I sold that. It’s not waterproof though.
