The man viewed the challenge as an inconvenience, and was afraid of being embarrassed before the tribe. He should've been afraid to be embarrassed before God and himself. He did not approach the task with the proper reverence and respect, which is why he failed. He took none of it seriously, and ended up looking like a pathetic coward because of it. I would be ashamed of myself, and determined to go back and try again.
