To be honest. BIG RED is a long distance hi speed car & airport 1 mile competitions. A tight track is not the place for it. But , on the other hand with more work on tailoring for that track and seat time I’m sure that crew would come out on top. Met the driver & techs at PRI in Indy. Super nice & they loved talking about it. My brother had a 69 Z28. Awesome car.

Bonneville is magical, mystical, historical. My whole life most of my life, I have dreamed of racing at Bonneville, this past summer (2024) I finally made it there. And I went 184.277 MPH. Dream come true!! Can't wait to get back!

I wonder that too. I thought straight line until he said Bonneville, so yeah. Why is he wanting another 1,000+ on it. Surely doesn't have that much displacement that aerodynamics and weight aren't an issue. 😅😅

Damn I'd love a chance to drive Big Red, but I want a particular highway. Wanna do the Two way? And no I am NOT going to crash the car. Which leg do you want cause I can do the northbound leg blindfolded. But I could do the southbound leg also that way. But I am that weirdo that knows 100 miles of highway in memory.

I became a fan after buying a special edition of Road & Track magazine that featured a shootout with Big Red and some other very cool cars, including an original red with white stripe 427 Cobra. There was a complete write up about the Silver State Classic, and tragic death of the couple who drove the white Testarossa. Your dad finished well in his Corvette at that same event. I read that issue so much that some of the pages were falling out. 😛 Oh, and you took my brother for a ride in your GT-500 when he was visiting your cousin. He still talks about that experience.

I became a fan in December of 89 when my buddy found the Hot Rod Magazine teaser quip in the November -December issue. We were seeing the speed ticket issued by NHP. 222! Where was this? We found the road number on the ticket and looked it up. Hey man there ain't nothing out there. My buddy and I looked at each other and in chorus said "We gotta see this" he made the next race in 90 and I got up there in May of 91 for the first NORC. Been Working there for 36 years now.
