I have been a member for most of my life. I am so grateful for what you do and I am equally grateful to hear Mr. Friedman say, helping kids to learn the way they want to learn. As a totally blind child in the 90s, I was all, but forced to do nothing but read braille. I passionately believe and I took this philosophy in to the classroom as a public high school educator for almost 10 years, that students should be allowed and encouraged to consume content in the way that works for them. Whatever way that is. I am very proud to be a member and I use the library constantly. Thank you for everything you do and for this philosophy.

Wait a minute! A reading disability is not a Gift; that a lie! My whole life has been one living hell over misreading and mispelling. I don't remember names very well and seriously not spelling words accurately. If it weren't for auto spell checking, many of the word in this comment would be misspelled. I can read college texts but out loud i might have a problem. No its not a gift and don't be fooled into that myth. Tell how many blind person will tell you its a gift to be blind? Humm none.

This is wonderful. Is the information in the presentation available for students? How can teachers access some of these graphics (ex. the playground illustration)?

Thank you for sharing. My son has dyslexia and I was raising a "bad kid" as well. Until he finally got the help he needed, the traditional way of learning failed him - especially now that it is common core. According to NIH 1 in 5 people have dyslexia. They cannot learn through Common Core. 20% of kids will not make it in school. Thank you for all that you shared.

Great to hear this, I have struggled for years with dyslexia.. ppl just don’t understand this issue.. most of dyslexic people are actually above average! We don’t process information the same way!

The story is so similar for my son add in covid and we are screwed. I have pulled him out of school homeschooling him for the third year. I’m in Florida and the school system the whole RTI is awful. I tried putting him back in school but. Evaluate his evaluation is old they still won’t give him accommodations until he gets another evaluation. I’ve had him privately tested and the public school system has tested him but two years ago he has so many evaluations and the school system won’t accept any of them. They want to retain him and give him no help. I’ve so had it with the public school system. As parents we knew something was wrong before Kindergarten. Thankfully I am able to homeschool my son right now. Just so disgusted with our experiences. Oh well we can only move forward!!!

You guys are highly discriminatory against those who have already graduated high school. I was looking to create a personal account, not through a school district but you guys don’t give us that option. Please fix this.

Access to all is awesome! Learning Ally allows students to independently read what they like, when they choose. The students download their own books, add books to their own bookshelves, and read and listen to an audiobooks! All is easy to execute and teachers to manage! Go, LEARNING ALLY!

Im a college student with dyslexia. It’s my second time going to college. I quit the first time . Now being 32 and always regretted it. Im trying again. Im going on my second year. Can this help me with some of these tex books? I have one of those decvices that reads the text out loud but it’s just as bad as reading it myself because it’s a computer voice I finding myself confused . I like how on an other video it says it not on a computer voice it’s actually people reading it .
